Almost perfect.. so far

I've only had this device about 2 weeks, and so far it meets most of my needs but I ran into a couple hiccups. So far, this mp3 player has shown great battery life (I haven't run it all the way down yet, and I listen to it about an hour a day). It has great sound quality, and I like how the menu navigates. It supports a ton of different file types such as flac, ogg..which was a necessity for me. It's sturdy and not small by any means but I don't mind; I'd prefer it to be slightly rugged. My major complaint is with the screen control itself. I had heard a complaint from another review I read online, and the same thing happened to me. Once within the past 2 weeks the screen became unresponsive; I couldn't touch anything on the menu at all. I hit the reset button, and then the screen worked fine. I couldn't tell if this is something that will keep happening, or how often. If this is an infrequent occurrence, I would still give this product a high rating based on it's other excellent qualities; hitting the reset button once in a while is not an issue for me. However, if other people are facing this issue quite often, it may be a deal breaker. Overall, I'm loving this mp3 player so far. Excellent price for the storage capacity and the quality of sound. I just hope the screen doesn't act up again!

The Cowon X7 120GB Super MP3 Player (Black) features a 120GB HDD that doubles as an external USB hard drive. The large storage capacity enables you to store thousands of photos, songs and videos. Plus, you can store and transfer a wide range of documents. The X7 also features a 4.3" touch panel LCD with 480 x 272 resolution. The device's operation is simplified by the user friendly Smart Widget UI as well. Cowon also outfitted the X7 with a multi-video player that supports a variety of file formats, as well as Flash videos and Flash games. You can use it to watch TV shows, movies and Internet content on the 4.3" widescreen display. You can output the X7's video to a large TV screen as well. The X7 also supports JPEG photo viewing, SMI subtitles, LBD 1.0/2.0 lyric display and a TXT document reader. Other features include an integrated browser and Cowon's Utilities suite with Typist, Notepad, Comix, Stopwatch and Calculator functions.
