About Cubix GPU-Xpander Rackmount 8 with 8 Double Wide Slots
The Cubix XPRM-x16-82-OSV GPU-xpander Rack Mount 8 is an economical way to enhance the Input/Output (I/O) power of your rack mounted computers. GPU-xpander Rack Mount 8 is a hardware-only solution that expands the I/O capability of a rack mount computer by adding slots, power and cooling. Each GPU-xpander Rack Mount 8 can add 8 PCI Express (PCIe) slots to one to four of your rack mount computers. Add graphics processing units (GPUs) for graphical rendering or for mathematical high-performance computing (HPC) to a computer with GPU-xpander Rack Mount 8.
Each PCIe slot in each of your rack mount computers can host GPUs within GPU-xpander Rack Mount 8, which is available in a standard configuration of four pairs of slots and an optional configuration with two sets of 4 slots, shown in the image at the right. You need GPU-xpander Rack Mount 8 if the hardware and software combination you intend to use runs in your rack mount computers but causes over-current or overheating problems. GPU-xpander Rack Mount 8 is a hardware-only solution: no software required. It provides its own power supply and cooling; it requires no power from the host computer.
Simply plug the host adapter in your computer's PCIe slot, connect GPU-xpander Rack Mount 8, install GPUs or other adapters, power up and install device drivers. GPU-xpander Rack Mount 8 allows you to convert your rack mount tower or blade computer into a workstation-class machine with multiple adapters and controllers for thousands of dollars less per seat than buying a specialized, overpriced GPU-enabled computer. Support includes GPUs, audio and other multi-port IO adapters such as FireWire, USB 2.0 or Gbps Ethernet.

- 8 PCI Express x16 Slots: GPU-Xpander Rack Mount 8 is a rack mount PCIe expansion enclosure that provides four pairs of PCIe x16 slots or two sets of four PCIe x16 slots. Connect one or more units to adapters in several hosts or connect each unit to an adapter in each host
- Independent Power and Cooling: GPU-Xpander Rack Mount 8 independently powers and cools each GPU-Xpander unit inside the enclosure. Each GPU-Xpander unit has its own cooling fan and power supply. When you disconnect power to one GPU-Xpander unit, the others continue running
- Easy Access: Removing and replacing GPUs or other cards is straightforward. Ease out GPU-Xpander Rack Mount 8, remove one or both of the top covers and you have access to the 8 GPUs inside
- Flexibility: You can install and run almost any PCIe adapter or controller in GPU-Xpander Rack Mount 8. Unlike the competition, the enclosure provides plenty of room for connecting auxiliary power cables to GPUs with top-edge connectors
- Secure and Stable PCI Express Expansion: Each GPU-Xpander Rack Mount 8 houses six GPUs you can access across the network for graphical rendering or for HPC processes
