Self portraits are so much easier now.
This device is used in all my self portraiture. I like it combined with the two second delay in my Canon 60D camera. It is also great when I include myself in group pictures. I purchased the Dot Line Release because I wanted to have a more controled system for self portraiture. This device gives me plenty of time to set up my own pose as opposed to the camera's 10 second allowance.

Adorama Digital IR Remote Camera Release
I finally found an IR remove camera release I can afford. It works well on all occasions. It only works in front of the camera. I do not know if other IR remote release devices work at all angles of the camera. Anyway it is a good product.

Seems to work just fine
As per the other users, this unit does not come with instructions despite what is says on the box. However, mine at least came with a battery. The instructions though were pretty easy to get. A quick phone call to Adorama and the rep gave me the number to the company and ordered the manual herself. Within minutes I had the manual from the company and later that evening a second copy from the rep at Adorama. Good value for the money.

WORTHLESS PIECE OF JUNK!
How do you expect anyone to use this product without instructions or battery. The outside of the package said "instructions enclosed" but were they? Absolutely NOT! This is what we get for having everything [*]. How do I determine what size battery it takes? In order to attempt to use it. Get with it people.

Great Product!
While my Olympus E-3 and E-330 came with an infrared shutter release, I also needed an electronic cable release (wired) for improve sharpness in long-exposure and macro imaging. The infrared release included works great only so long as I am in front of the camera, e.g., self-portraiture, due to a required line-of-sight from the infrared remote to the remote sensor, which is located on the front of both of my cameras. The wired electronic cable release permits me to pre-focus and establish the correct exposure (via the half-press function) before releasing the shutter (full-press), which, happily, occurs instantly. I believe the release button on the cable release can also be used for a Bulb exposure by locking it in the full-press position, although I have not actually used that function yet (if it exists!).
