This is my 4th release cord that I have used (I have 3 more new ones) the plug that goes into the camera has been the problem where it seperated from the cord... But these last 4 have a different plug which I know will be durable... I so enjoy the fact that I have this... My hands are too shaky and I can take night and Neutral Density shots... I love it and with out it am lost. It is so uncomplicated and simple to use... Thank you for changing the part that goes into the camera.... Hopefully I will not get to the other 3 cords I had purchased... And let us not forget the price. IT works great when you have a shutter speed of "bulb" Thank you...

I use this release on occasion with the camer aon a tripod to reduce vibration, and it works OK for that. The cord is only 3ft long, so it cannot really replace an IR remote in many situations. The advantage over an IR remote is that this release works in the camera's standard release mode and leaves the onboard shutter release functional (on a D7000), whereas an IR remote demands a separate mode that disables the onboard release. The button is lockable into continuous release mode, a curious feature I have not yet used. The connector was very hard to insert into the D7000 side port. At first, it did not make a connection at all and I had to push it in all the way. The second time I pulled out the cord, the metal shroud on the plug separated and remained in the camera – a sure sign of cheap knockoff design (bad tolerances, weak linkage). The release is functional without the shroud, but the plug is rather loose, and polarity is ambiguous. One has to match the arrow on one side to an arrow next to the camera port.

I really rely on this remote release cord. I have a wireless remote and it isn't as handy as this one.

The metal clip separated from the plug in into the camera the first time I used it and the remote is now useless.

I have very shaky hands so must now use my tripod and use the remote release cord, when wanting to take nite pictures, this is great, I use it all the time to get sharper shots. I do not leave home without it. In fact I ordered 2 so that I always had a spare. I have no complaints about it.

I have shakey hands, must now use a tripod for picture taking to get a sharp shot. Sometimes I take as many as 5-700 photos in a day and I love the remote.... I can have my camera set up just sit or stand watching the scene and snap, snap, snap! Another remote I had wore out (wires on the cord broke). The price was so reasonable for me that I bought 2 Thank you.....

Once I got this remote control, I tried to plug it into the camera. it was hard...very hard. I thought it suppose to be like that (it was my first remote control). well...it shouldn't. later on I bought a Nikon remote control, and it was going in very smoothly. After I plugged it in, I tried to take it out...well...I took it our, but the metal piece was stuck inside...vert bad and cheap product

took a chance buying this remote after reading some reviews that said the product was flimsy. i have used the remote a lot and even though it does FEEL flimsy it has met every challenge with reliability.

I use this on my backup camera, so expect all to be working when I pull this camera out of the bag. After 4-5 months it just stopped working for no reason and froze the camera focus point. I would recommend spending the extra dollars for the MC-DC2 from Nikon.

When I read previous reviews there were comments about how the unit was of weak construction. I agree the unit feels flimsy but I have been using it for some time now and has met my every need. Considering how other brands are several dollars more expensive, you might try this one.

This product works at designed. Nothing flashy. You push the button, you get an exposure. I haven't tried the bulb function yet. You can push the button half way to auto focus and then depress fully to expose. I bought it mainly to use instead of my remote which works fine, you just have to reach around the front of the camera to use it, because the receiver is in the front of the camera.

Ok, so the cable works fine, but there is one thing, it does not work with D3100 Camera. I tested the cable on my Friends D90 and it worked flawlessly, but even though the cable says "MC-DC2" which should work for the D3100... this one does not.

I bought this wired trigger for my D90 to use during macro photography and low-light photography. The remote is working as desired and is definitely cheaper than the propriety piece.

I use this product with the camera mounted on a tripod in landscape and studio photography. Most of it is well made and works as it should. The only problem with it the end that plugs into the camera is plastic and that is the point it will fail, the weak link. Also any user will have to be very careful not to pull on it even by accident or that plug tip can break off and maybe leave it inside the camera. If I had known about the plastic plug I would not have purchased the item.

This keeps your hands off of the camera and makes it more steady. Also, after framing a portrait in the viewfinder you can step to the side of the camera and converse with your subject(s) and wait for the perfect moment to shoot. Also, it works great with macro and landscape shots.

I use the cable release frequently on my Nikon D90. It's an essential tool for long exposures in Bulb mode, trap focus (google it, it's great) for wildlife & Macro shots, or just to eliminate any shake for overall sharper pictures. Every photgrapher should have a cable release in their bag and it's not necessary to spend a lot of money.
