Inexpensive and fun!

This is an inexpensive plastic lens. The shots tend to be blurry with heavy vignetting. However, that is why one purchases this lens -- it gives you the toy camera look, and it is done in the lens rather through software. The mount attaches fine on my 60D. It is very light weight. The lens is just a pinhole, so you need a lot of light to see what you are shooting. A tripod is recommended. This lens is a lot of fun and it is a nice diversion from more sophisticated lenses. Fun lens!

By

Once you learn this lens characteristics, and you nail the focus and framing, it's a really fun lens to play with - Especially for only $25! Absolute must for the 'fun' shots.

Fun Lens

By

This was a fun lens to add to my collection. It is exactly what is is advertised as: the classic Holga toy camera lens for a DSLR.

fun, but doesn't replace the film holga

By

from New Haven, CT  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I really miss the surreal photos I used to get with my film Holga, so when I saw this I immediately purchased it. For the price it's a nice toy to play with. You definitely get that "dreamy" soft focus, but it obviously cannot replicate the light leaks that are a hallmark of the Holga look. Even so, it's a fun (and cheap!) lens. Compared to say, plastic optics in the Lensbaby lineup, it's an absolute steal!

Inexpensive fun to have

By

from Dublin OH  -  Casual Photographer

Just had to get this; the expense very reasonable. On the D7000 set-up as a Non-CPU lens (page 159 ~ 160 of user maunal) then read info about M or A modes (page 270) so the camrea will meter. Then ... Holga fun on your DSLR.

Fun, but you get what you pay for

By

from Bellingham, WA  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I bought this as an experiment and it has been a lot of fun. It is odd to put a [$] lens on a $1000 body, but why not? You do get the Holga effect. On my D7000 it works in bulb mode only where the shutter is open as long as you hold the shutter button down, so exposure is a challenge. All that means is that you must expect to spend time in Lightroom or Photoshop to get useful images. It is more fun and engaging than the various holga effect apps on my iPhone. So I recommend it, especially because it is so inexpensive. You can't go wrong, as long as you understand what you are getting.
