works but covers the zoom ring
I purchased this bumper thinking that I could just leave it on the camera during use. This is not the case. It covers up the zoom ring. I just use it as an additional lens cap and it does prevent those sideways bumps on the lens

Very Sturdy
I like the heaviness(not in weight but construction) and protectiveness of this product. I bought the medium lens bumper for a 24-70mm Nikon lens. On the packaging it showed more definitive sizing that is not located on the website. It was hard to get it on the lens and I may exchange it for the large so that I can cover part of the hood. It definitely will protect your lens. I did not give it 5 stars because it was hard to maneuver and I may actually need the larger size

Works well
Used on a Nikon 55-300mm VR over the lens. Shooting with one camera and another slung over my shoulder, every time I knelt down, the lens would crash into the cement. Now hopefully I have more protection. Works if you adjust it just right, zooming is slightly stiff, since the lens is moving alongside the foam. Well built. Takes a little getting use to, loose, adjustment, falling off when placed in a camera bag with liners, etc
