Great for 120 and 220 film!

I've been using Stainless Steel reels for more than 35 years and I've been reluctant to use "plastic"; was I wrong! These reels work superbly. No crimped film! They make "easy meat" out of loading medium format film especially 220!

I have always used plastic tanks and the reels have been easy to load and unload. And is is easy to switch from 35mm to 120.

a dark room essential!

By

I purchased this reel because the ones provided my school were pretty well worn-out and uncooperative. This reel just works! The film rolls up easy and goes on even easier. A must for any print work.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
KENNETH M  Very versatile. I still shoot 35mm and Medium Format. Saves me from having to have 2 sets of reels.
vici g  How do I adjust the spool to 120? No instructions on the box.
ADRIENNE M  Twist the halves of the reel in opposite directions to disengage them. You will see two "levels" of indentations; the outside/larger set is for 120 film. Twist into place at the appropriate set of indentations. This method of operation is, BTW, the same as all plastic reels. Good luck & have fun!
vici g  Thank you Adrienne. Mission accomplished! - and it was actually very easy.
Sherman M  I have a Jobo UniTank Tanksystem 1500, will these fit that spindle and tank?
VINCE P  Read up on the Jobi -- if it says it takes "Paterson" reels then yes. these are made for the Paterson system. As such one's first reaction is no, but, as I said, if Jobo made a tank/spindle compatible with Paterson then perhaps you can make it work. Another option is to inquire on photo-net in the forum on film developing -- the general question I take it would be are there commercially available after-market (ie generic brand) reels for this Jobo; OR, do Paterson reels fit in this Jobo tank....
