About Dolica

The Dolica AX680B001 68" Professional Tripod with Ball Head is upgraded from the AX620B100 by having stronger structural rigid it thanks to its taller 68" stance. Also the 68" height is better suited for individuals 6' and taller. The AX680B001 is a great option of those that need the advantages of ball head like quick shot framing with its single lever pan and tilt lock. Built with a foam cell comfort grips, weight hook, legs lock, a reversible locking center column and non-slip rubber feet makes the AX620B100 a perfect choice for today's photographer. Finally the AX680B001 is great for larger cameras and DSLRS since it supports up to 15.4lbs.

Very Nice! Grab one of these if you can!

Well I so very much like this Tripod! Very well made, sturdy, and very light! Only being just over 5 feet tall this is a champ for me in the weight department! I will need to toss this info out there about the "max operating load" one the sight it classes it as 15 lbs. .... but on the paper that came with it, is says 13 lbs. So just a heads up for you all if you are looking into the weight it can hold! Still worth it though!

good value for this size

I wish I got this at the discounted price. I was looking for a good value tripod that can handle my full frame camera with some big fast lenses (70-200 f2.8) that is sturdy to my hight (6ft). For me, that means without extending the center column that isn't as stable. love the all metal construction of the tripod... many others have a plastic body that the legs and head connect to. With the legs fully extended the tripod does have a little wiggle... more than some others I have tried. You can...

You can hang some extra weight on the center column to help stabilize the tripod in the wind. would have been nice if the hook at the botton of the center column were easier to unscrew for alternate camera setups. You can travel with it in it's case but it's not small... with head it's about 23" and isn't too heavy. took it with me on a 5-10 mile hike.

Better than I imagined

By

For the price I thought I was just going to get a cheap, flimsy tripod. I was pleasantly surprised by how well this tripod is built. It looks and feels a lot more expensive than it is. The legs extend smoothly and the locks hold them firmly in position and the ball head has no problems holding my DSLR with a very hefty all-metal 70-210 f/4 lens steady. It is pretty tall at 68 inches, so it does need a lot of space to spread the legs out for maximum stability when at full height. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase so far.

Lacking in precision

By

from Dalton, Ga  -  Photo Enthusiast

This tripod will do the job well, but the legs seem to lack the kind of precision you would expect when sliding the legs in and out. Since this is not an expensive tripod, it still may be considered a good value.

Better than I had expected for the price

By

from Horseshoe Bay, Texas  -  Photo Enthusiast

This tripod is very lightweight but is able to securly hold my Nikon D5100, a 2x teleconverter and my old Nikon 135mm lens with a battery pack loaded. That is a heavy combination! The carrying bag is nice and has a strap that goes over the sholder. Construction is of high quality and is easily adjusted to my needs. There is a small pocket inside for the allen wrench which is included. The ball head is rather small but very smooth. There is a compass and levels on the frame. An excellent buy!

This is a nice light but stable and sturdy tripod. Easily adjustable with a ball head and adjustable to about 5.5 feet. Very nice for the price.

Light and ready to go!

By

from Gordonsville, Va  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I have a professional heavy(read expensive) tripod in the studio for big rigs. But sometimes I just like to grab my Fuji Point and Shoot HS50EXR, and this tripod and head for the hills! The case is just right behind my back like carrying quiver of arrows. It is quick to set up, has a center hook for extra weight to be added in windy conditions too! It comes with foam cushioned legs for carrying your camera and tripod over your shoulder, and the quick disconnect has a double lock system, that responds to a delicate tightening touch for very easy movement for video capture as well. The extending center bar for great height was a real winner for me so I didn't have to bend over, and the small folded up size in the case made it easy to carry everywhere. Add to that the built in level and compass and you have a real winner! I am very happy with it!

Questions about this item:

Shopper  How much does it weigh and what is the folded length?
RICHARD L  It weight is very light maybe 3-4 lbs. It comes in it's own bag which might be 18" long and 5" in dis. Hope this helps.
Charles M  does the head have quick release ?
RICHARD L  Yes. It's on of my best pods. light yet strong. I used it on a Disney Cruise and in the field. I didn't have any problems at all. Good Luck
Shopper  I don't see a pan arm in the pic gallery, also it is not listed with the features, does this tripod come with a pan arm?
STEVE H  I am really enjoying the tripod, especially the height and ease of adjustment. The ball head is not as secure as I would like and it does not have a pan arm.
