Works Great!

I use this labelmaker at work to label hanging files, client folders, boxes - anything that needs a label. It's quick and easy to use, good hand-held design. I use this labelmaker at work to label hanging files, client folders, boxes - anything that needs a label. It's quick and easy to use, good hand-held design. The label tape backing is split for ease of removal. Punctuation is a little difficult to get to, especially if you need it often, as you have to hit a couple different buttons and scroll through menus to find what you want. Also, the labeler doesn't make the most of the space on the tape: the "extra-large" type size is not really larger than the "large" - it's just spread out, making very wide letters; and the 2-line type option shrinks the letter size to only be as tall as one line of regular "large" type. And the cartridges don't last very long.Other people have complained about battery life and cartridge costs & availability. But I have found the tapes aren't very expensive (not for just white, especially), and I can get them at any office store and a few other places[...] As for battery life, granted I don't use it every day, but I'd used it for over a year before needing to replace the batteries.

Nothing but trouble

I was so excited when I first got this product. After reading the manual, it took me forever just to print four labels. The dang thing just wouldn't print right unless I gently pulled the tape (at the right speed of course). This product is extremely frustrating.

well worth the price

from Utah  -  Budget Shopper

I wanted a labeler to help me get more organized and have multiple uses for it. I bought this one because it was lower priced than others and I didn't think I needed more features than what it has. It has worked quite well for me. I use it to label leftovers in the fridge and freezer, complete with dates so I don't have to stop and think about when I made something. I use it on storage boxes and to label my yarn stash and other craft supply boxes. I've used it to make name tags for Christmas stocking ornaments I give my grandkids each year. I've had it several years, maybe as long as 10, and have just recently been getting a battery low warning. That's been going on for a couple of months but it's still working fine so I know it doesn't use a lot of power. I wouldn't bother with the AC adapter, especially if it's not going to be in constant use. And if you use it to label something you'll be washing later, the label should be removed before washing. The adhesive comes off much more cleanly if it hasn't gotten wet. With that said, I've had some adhesion to my freezer containers. Now I take the label off as soon as it comes out of the freezer and before condensation gathers.

Great customer service

from New york  -  Budget Shopper

Our company had this letra tag and it broke. With one phone call to Dymo, I had a new one by my door 5 days later.

Great for multi-tasks or projects!

from Laurinburg, N.C,  -  Budget Shopper

Great for different types of jobs. Small and Large fonts for multi-design projects. Portable and easy to operate on the go. Makes work look neat and professional. Plus able to use different type of labels (colors, magnetic, & etc) This product was above my expectations. Give it a try, I assure you will not be disappointed. Oh Yeah, very affordable.

Not user friendly

from Brockport, New York  -  Midrange Shopper

Had the older version of this machine and loved it. The commonly used symbols were accessed with the shift key and they were visible on the keyboard. The new machine has every symbol in the book making the most used ones more difficult to find. Many times adding more bells and whistles makes the product worse. This is the case with this machine. Also, it always feels like it is going to fall out of my hand. Not good ergonomics. The old one was intuitive to use, this one is just frustrating to use.

I like it!!

from spokane valley, wa  -  Midrange Shopper

I use it for everything. Labeling storage boxes, water bottles for kids, and my candle supplies. It does what I need. That's all I can ask.

Why is Dymo keeping this a secret?

from Kansas City, MO  -  Budget Shopper

I resisted buying a label maker for years...assumed the labels would be like the embossed labels of the 1970's. My friend convinced me to try one and now I have become the label queen! Labels are not just for file folders anymore. The freezer packs are labeled, the linen closet is labeled, laundry baskets are labeled, food boxes are labeled with dietary points, school books, folders and projects are labeled, tabs are quickly labeled for work binders, the girl scout cookies are labeled (do not touch! these are for mom!), storage boxes are labeled, Christmas ornaments are labeled...I think DYMO could write an entire advertising campaign for this one little label maker. There should be one in every household!

Excellent product

from Hampton, VA  -  Budget Shopper

Its a great tool. I use it for almost everything! Especially to help hubby around the house, LOL!!! It also been a great help with my oldest son teaching him sight words.

Great product but find a safe place for

from San Diego, CA  -  Budget Shopper

This is a great product, the print is fast and super quiet. But don't depend on the Magnetic holder for this labeler. With or without batteries, the holder slides down whatever metallic surface that you want to put it on. Better be safe than sorry, don't bother with the extra holder.
