Started blowing fuses on first use. Retu

By

from Colorado  -  Casual Photographer

The unit that I received blew a fuse within the first hour of use. I made about three or four exposures at the lowest setting and the unit was just sitting with the modeling light on when I noticed that it had lost all power. Checked the fuse and sure enough it had blown. I put in a new fuse and it did the same thing times 3 fuses. My room temp was cool so it was not due to the room temp. Perhaps I received a faulty unit? I have a couple of D-Lite 2's that I've had for a few years and this has never happened. I'll try another one of these to see if it was indeed a faulty unit. I need a low power strobe with modeling light so I'm hoping this works.

Elinchrom D-Lite RX One

By

from Winter Springs, Florida  -  Photo Enthusiast

I have been using an Elinchrom D-Lite 2 for a hair light but it is a bit heavy for my boom. Since I had it set at only partial power, I thought that the lighter Elinchrom D-Lite RX One would do the job. My D-Lite 2s recharge almost instantly and are absolutely great for fast shooting but the RX One takes a long time, more than a second to recharge. So it frequently doesn't fire. If it is set at a lower power, it doesn't provide a sufficient balance of light.
