Cannot Beat Elinchrom Lights

By

I've said it before about Elinchrom products and will say it again--you cannot beat Elinchrom. Superb reliability and best of all--fantastic light color and consistency. I now have seven Elinchrom lights--two Ranger A's, and 4 600 RX's and one 1200 RX. I use the Skyport system to manage these lights (seldom use more than four lights at a time--usually two or three). I LOVE MY ELINCHROM STUFF!

Great lighting

By

I have been pleased with this light. I can use it with a 4' x 6' softbox in the studio and use it with a smaller foldable softbox to take to events. When using less powerful strobes, I used to have issues with ambient light in some locations but this is powerful enough to overpower that light and give a consistent look.

Cannot Beat Elinchrom Lights

By

I rented numerous brands of lights over the years before buying and equipping my studio fully with my own equipment. I chose Elinchrom because it is the best quality strobe lighting that exists--very consistent across power ranges, utterly reliable, a million super high quality accessories (light modifiers of every kind), and the Skyport triggering system. I unconditionally recommend Elinchrom and am the owner of now dozens of their products. I have no regrets of having made the commitment to this product line. While the quality of the photograph is a function of the quality of the photographer, it is always a good idea to use the best products you can to let the best of your vision achieve full expression.

Questions about this item:

jimmy a  Can you use pocket wizard receiver with this and will be trigerd by a transmiter? thanks
EDWARD W  if the input power cord is like the generic ones that go into most computers, the best solution is the radio set up from Paul Buff (alienbees). It will work with any monolight that has the computer style plug in and the phonojack connector. I use the Paul Buff radio setup on Alienbees, White Lightning, Adorama flashpoint, Photogenic and other more generic monolights Pocket wizards are great, but for studio work you just need a robust radio trigger. If you want more precise (and remote) control. Look at the AlienBees Einstein system. My studio has 6 alienbees, 2 Flashpoint II's, And a jumbo Photogenic 1200 ws. Strongly recommend the above brands. hard to beat FlashPoints w/ Paul Buff radios for a robust and affordable setup.
George P  Buff stuff has definite limiting factors, and it is cheaper to use a Skyport transmitter (since the Skyport receiver is built into the D-RX lights. Buff stuff would just cost a lot more (and having used both, I've found the Skyports to be more reliable on triggering than Buffs). I'm guessing the Pocket Wizard question is because he wants to use the Elis in conjunction with other lights he has PWs on. Buff = cult of envy. Best customer service around because they get LOTS of practice....
jimmy a  Can you use battery packs for out door photography with this or any Elichrom mono lights? thanks
DORIS L  Jimmy, I sorry I can not answer your question. I don't use battery packs at all. Wish I could help you. Doris
