I bought this set as my first studio setup along with a d-lite 400 as a third light for portrait and product photography. The included softboxes are ok, I added an additional diffuser inside these and it helped quite a bit. I love the ability to remotely set the power and the built in rf trigger with 4 separate groups. The d-lite does not have remote power adjustment and it is amazing how much I miss this and because of that it is always placed somewhere low so I can easily get to it. I have noticed that on occasion you have to power off and power back up the light to get the rf trigger to start to work again. My biggest complaint about these lights is the tilt tightening mechanism. I recently broke one because it doesn't tighten down enough without breaking the cheaply designed bolt that holds it. If it is overtightened, the plastic breaks off and it will no longer tighten unless you use a socket set or replace it. I purchased a 5 ft Creative Light Octa to use with these lights and you cannot use this large/heavy of a softbox without getting creative to keep it from slipping into the downward facing position (but don't overtighten the clamp). But these lights and that softbox together are incredible. The other complaint I have is the lack of customer service from Manfrotto/Bogen who is the US distributor of Elinchrom. They have about the worst customer service I have experienced. I called them and left them a message days ago about my broken light and have not been contacted yet. I highly recommend this kit but be careful of the size/weight of the softbox that you put on it.
