I love the expo disc, put it over the lens point, capture am image in teh scene you will be shooting and set custom white balance to that new image. it looks like you just took a shot of a gray card! Its a great add to the arsenal.

It is so easy to use with a Nikon.I've had great results with the Neutral expodisc that I had to have the warm expodisc too.You can't go wrong if you buy either one or both like I did.Well worth it.[...]

This disc is really easy to mount on a lens to take an accurate white balance setting. i like to do a custom white balance to insure that my colors are accurate. i shoot in variety of conditions to include gyms. the disc allows me to set my white balance whit no trouble at all. my colors are consistent and right on target. i also use a gray card, but the disc is often more convenient to carry around. i use the disk outdoors for portraits and when i shoot sports on a field or in a gym. i use a gray card when i am in my studio doing portraits. i also use a gray card outdoors when it is convenient to carry around. the expodisc is nice because it can be carried in my pocket.

I recently took photos of artwork for a Gallery's catalogue of an upcoming exhibition. Had a lot of problems getting exact colour replication of the artwork - even with a gray card. Found out since about the Expodisc, got one and it is extreemly accurate. The Gallery want to print a book of all their collection - I feel very confident that I will be able to produce exactly each artwork.

I had been using an 18% gray card to set my color balance and was happy with the results. The only downside to the gray card was the size and durability - it was difficult to pack and needed replacement every three or four months. I wanted something more compact and durable. I heard rave reviews of the Expodisc and decided to plunk down the 100 bones for a 77mm neutral version. I've had mixed results with this item. It works adequately in bright, single light situations but in mixed or low light situations, my colors end up being too far off. I understand mixed light is a tough situation but I seemed to get more accurate color with my gray card. Sometimes the colors I get with the Expodisc are just so out there that I end up just switching the white balance setting to the predominate light source and correcting later. I'd recommend a pass on the Expodisc and invest in some gray cards and a good white balance card.

When you compare the same image taken once with your cameras' AWB and then one taken with the Expodisk you will instantly see the improvement. Not real conducive to photojournalism style of photography.

The ExpoDisk is very easy to use on a Nikon D200. I shoot in different florescent lighting conditions and it can be a nightmare getting the correct white balance. With the ExpoDisk I get the corrections I need without having to fix it in Photoshop.

I have really enjoyed this product alot as it is easy to use and accurate, saves time in photoshop, and the skin tones are right on and I have lent it to other people and they have said the same thing. This also saved having to carry heavy meter. I say try it and you will really glad that you have it in your camera bag.

Time-lapse photography is great bridge between still photography and videography. Both disciplines co-mingle in this easy-to-learn, yet endlessly challenging, creative technique.
The ExpoDisc Digital Warm Balance Filter is designed for professional photographers, videographers, and serious amateurs. The filter produces custom color at the point of capture. Photographers no longer have to shoot through extra glass, carry inconsistent and cumbersome cards, or spend hours on the computer in post-production color correction.
Users just need to read and set white balance with the ExpoDisc Digital Warm Balance filter in place before shooting to produce portraits and landscapes with warmer, more pleasing colors.
The Digital Warm Balance Filter is a calibrated, colored diffusion filter with abias that forces the digital camera to add precise quantities of red and green color to a neutral balance. The filter is excellent for warming (or balancing) skin tones in indoor or outdoor portraits and scenery.
It decreases color temperature; adds healthy skin tone to images shot in open shade or overcast conditions; slightly reduces the bluish cast on overcast days or at high noon; reduces excess blue from flash indoors or in daylight flash-fill; as well as warms sea, sky and high altitude shots.
Each ExpoDisc comes with a card recording its exact density and primary color characteristics. The ExpoDisc filter works with digital cameras and digital video, and is available in many sizes.
