Works well with my HVX200 and RedRock M2

I put My HVX200 and REDROCK M2 rig on it and it balanced hands free. The heavier the rig the more pressure you will have on your chest though, so breathing will cause movement on your image. I would suggest adding a mono pole to your belt to remove some pressure from your chest. Other than that it is a nice little rig.

Good support for the cash.

Good shoulder support for the money, but it rides on the diaphram, causing it to rise and fall with breathing.

Camera support

Just not very functional, does not feel solid with camera on board and not well balanced.

better than it's price

from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York  -  Hobbyist

i am not sure what the fuss is all about, based on the price i expected a "5" and got a 7 or 8. for the price it can't be beat but then again i have a small machine mounted on it. figuring out the accesories was very slightly complicated without an instruction manual but not anywhere near impossible and for the price it offers stability second only to a tripod/monopod setup and i really didn't want to spend 400 dollars + to get something marginally better?!

Gathering dust

from London, UK  -  Business Owner

Seemed simple enough, and cheap enough. Came with about 2 or 3 extra parts. But without any instructions. No one at Adorama could figure out what the extras were for. Playing with it for awhile never lead to a conclusion. Tried using it a few times on a 5dII. More stable then handholding but still not perfect by a long shot. Still in the studio but not the best piece of kit and hasn't been used for about a year.

Good For Price, But Riser Can Snap Off!

from NYC  -  DP

For[$], it's a great option for DSLRs, in my opinion better than $1000+ redrock/zacuto for when you're using a simple camera & lens setup w/o accessories. HOWEVER, I was recently on a shoot and the plastic riser snapped clean off its tie down and sent my camera into a free fall. Luckily I caught it before it hit the ground, but, my god. It wasn't a heavy setup either, just a 7D with a 24-70mm. So be wary of the riser! I will continue to use it with just the flat plate and hope that doesn't snap off too. I guess you get what you pay for.

Almost there

from Richmond va  -  Business Owner

I like the idea of having a better way to hand hold my Canonxh a1. Simple design and for the price why not. 1st problem the pot metal nut was stripped in the first thread, I have tool to fix. Add a buck to the price use stainless hardware I'm guessing this is not uncommon. Nuts are pressed into the plastic casing, pot metal is soft, so the press can damage the nut. Not 100% happy with cam position. also the unit rests against the sternum. every breath causes movement. Longer arm should fix. I think I can modify it to work for me. so will keep. 50% on recommend.

As everyone stated so far this is the best bang for the buck, and it is sturdy, for the one person who doesn't get where the 2 parts supposed to go, I guess you shouldn't be doing film, One of the parts is an eye elevator that brings the camera to eye level, the other is a bracket with a cold shoe, that allows you to place both a mic or light near the camera when you record.

JOOWON L  i used it a few times with my 7D, and it works fine. I do not recommend using for a long period of time, because your stomach will start to feel the pain. As far as accessories are concerned, I cannot say because I haven't used with any accessories.
