Better Beamer FX-3

The pictures depicting this product are just at the right angle that you don't see the 3 pieces of plastic its made out of. No top, no bottom. You can make this for around 5 dollars and it would be a quality piece. Grrrrr!!!!!!!!!!! Save your money

ADJUST and use 20+ feet away !

By

Collapses to small size. I have added aluminum foil on top and bottom, and have taped it to a dedicated manual flash. Try flash with lens not zoomed to get center of illumination adjusted properly. Then tape it down and leave it.

Works fine

Wanted for birding and other situations requiring that extra boost for my external Canon 580 flash. It Works as expected and I'm happy with it. Light and easy to carry and pack for travel.

A birding standard

By

from Allentown, PA  -  Photo Enthusiast

Small lightweight, easy to install and effective. What more could you ask for? Lower cost and interchangeability with different flash models would help. Still, it really helps in shooting birds from a distance and in getting the catch light in the eye.

A great flash addition

By

The instructions are a little confusing and if you follow the instructions, the left and right marker on the plastic sides are upside down. A picture is worth 1000 poorly conveyed words.

Could be improved

Should be made as one unit with hinges that make it foldable instead of three seperate pieces.

Works, + emergency firestarter.

By

from SC, USA.  -  Photo Enthusiast

Works as advertised, but HEED the safety instructions. That lens is no joke! I used it to ignite some tinder as an experiment. If you need to start a fire in an emergency situation it will ignite one! Neat idea and simple as can be. Would buy again.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Will this model fit on my Canon 600EX-RT?
GUILLERMO A  It may fit, probably not in the perfect way, but it should work. I recommend to purchase the better beamer designed specially for each flash unit, therefore it will fit perfectly, and you will not have problems in breezy places, for example. I have used better beamers for both Nikon SB 800 and Canon 580, and each time it has been the extender designed for each unit. Amazingly, the one for the Canon flash worked a lot better, I did not need to use the extra adhesive velcro stickers, just the velcro band that comes with the extender. This made me think that the Canon flashes have a shape more suitable for the attachment of the better beamer. I hope that my answer will help you. Regards, GAG
steve w  Hi, i have a canon 320EX flash. Is there a Better Beamer Flash Extender I can use?
JOHN W  I'm not aware of anything within reasonable prices beyond the Flash X-Tender. It works okay, but can slip off of the flash if the camera is pointed down and the velcro is not tightened sufficiently. I use it a lot during the day to bring out details in the feathers of birds that I photograph and it works great. You may encounter a bit of reflection/red eye on birds and animals, but can be adjusted out with photoshop. For the money, it works well.
RONALD C  Which Better Beamer fits LumoPro flashes?
Andrew R  That would depend on the specific model. Unfortunately we don't appear to offer a unit that is LumoPro specific (we don't carry LumoPro at this time, so compatibility cannot be tested)
