About Adorama eTTL2

Tilt TTL Cords
Finally, a TTL cord with a tilt feature. No more close up shots missed or ruined because the flash was unable to angle down to give complete coverage to the subject. This cord can be mounted onto an accessory shoe or a light stand. Just remove the locking screw that would be used to secure the unit to an accessory shoe and a 1/4-20 female thread remains to allow the tilt shoe to be mounted to a light stand or tripod.

Full dedicated operation of the flash is the same as if the flash were mounted directly onto the camera hot shoe. Available in 2 Lengths 3 feet and 6 feet

Works as advertised

I installed it with a new bracket for my 6D, and it worked as advertised. I think if protected from abuse, it should work with light use, by amateur photographers.

It's ok but....

It's ok but tilt capability should be more stable. or maybe have an option so it doesnt tilt. I didnt find another product made of metal sturdy enough as this one, that's why I chose it. but I dont like the 'tilt feature'. I would have prefer it to be in a fix position. other than that it works ok!

Flash Shoe doesn't fit

By

from Virginia  -  Photo Enthusiast

Item is not as it appears in photo. There is a flash shoe at the end of the cord and one on top of bracket that fits into the hotshoe on the camera. The flash shoe at the end of the cord doesn't fit my flash Canon 220EX, but the other ones does.

It is exactly what I needed so that I could learn to use the flash off the camera.

Identical to the Canon OC-E3

By

from Kansas City  -  Semi-pro Photographer

First, I believe the newest version of this product is slightly different than what is pictured. For example, it does not have a thumb screw to tighten it on the camera's hotshoe (as pictured). Instead, the new model has a locking slide mechanism (identical to the OC-E3). The corners on both the camera end and the flash end are rounded (identical to the OC-E3). The flash end also has a slide to slip into a hotshoe (identical to the OC-E3). The diameter of the cable matches the OC-E3. Other than the Adorama sticker (that can easily be removed) it seems like a complete copy of the OC-E3 at about 30% of the cost. I think some of the negative comments I've read are based on the previous model and do not reflect the newest version. My initial impression is that I'm very pleased with the build quality. It seems to work fine with the ETTL of my Canon 580 flash. I admit, I'm fairly hard on my equipment and using this cable on a flip handle puts a lot of stress on the mounts. I've had some models that are absolute junk. Even the Canon versions seem to break every few months but based on the price, I can buy 3 or 4 of these.

eTTL2 Coiled Flash Cord

By

from Seabrook, TX  -  Casual Photographer

The first off camera cord shipped has no cold shoe mount needed to attach the flash end of the cord to the Flashpoint Quick Flip Flash Bracket included in kit. The replacement cord came with a cold shoe mount needed to attached the flash end of the cord to flash bracket but the canon flash fires with the slightest movement of the Flashpoint Quick Flip Flash Bracket and camera assembly leaving the flash batteries dead and the people around you looking at you like you do not know what youu are doing. Relocating the Canon flash back on the Canon 5D Mark III eliminates the random flash fires. Reinstalling the flash onto the Adorama Off-Camera eTTL2 Coiled Flash Cord returns the random flash firings with any movement of the Flashpoint Quick Flip Flash Bracket and camera assembly.

Good bracket

By

from Idaho  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I had considered buying this bracket, but because of the somewhat negative reviews, had not. While came with the package deal, it's not a bad bracket, especially considering the price. Versatile, and not too bulky.
