great band for the buck

Bought this for use as a baby monitor. Seemed like a no brainer for the features/price compared to baby video monitors... this can be used as a security/remote view cam after we are done with baby monitor stage. Pros: good image quality (received a defective unit at first with pink hue, but adorama replaced it quick) Good feature set (night vision, tilt/pan, wifi/wired, access from pc or mobile devices) Cons: Severe lag from mobile apps, especially from the official foscam app Quality control...

Nice camera

By

from Chandler, AZ  -  Professional

It can be a little tough to set up but video and pictures are pretty good. I set it up using my Mac and have it running through SSL which is nice. I'm using TinyCam on my Android. It seems to work good although it's slow for the video to come up with SSL running. I actually haven't tried it without it turned on. Pros: Good picture, was on sale at Adorama so only cost $89 and has SSL capability. cons: When controlling it remotely it is hard to make it do small movements. Safari seems to not want to display the picture as it comes up white Even though plugin it requests is installed.. Firefox won't let me login even though plugin is installed.

FOCUS MAN!!!

By

from 94086  -  Casual Do-It-Yourselfer

awesome cam, but need to have auto focus or something. at first the camera feed are very clear and sharp but as time passes it sometime because blurry. I have 6 of these and they do their job very well. the setup are a little complicated than the previous model but the pictures quality make up for the setup headaches. it an indoor cam but i set two outdoor under the rain gutter so it still protected from wet weather and it work pretty well. if you do set it outdoor just make sure that it doesn't get wet and you're fine. one more thing... the feed is delay about 5 sec.

Reliable powerful webcam

By

from san mateo,ca  -  Casual Do-It-Yourselfer

Just plug the power and network cable. Then it is ready. The ios app is good. I can pan the camera. Turn on/off the infrared light. It does have something missing feature such as full screen but minor. The desktop browser requires a plugin to run which is a bit painful. The only problem and the real problem is the wireless password setting. I have a special character and it does't let me to save. So I was n't able to try the wireless.

So much better than 8910

By

from Colorado  -  Enthusiast

HD is excellent. I'm getting 25fps consistently over wifi was well. The lower cost 8910 is lower detail and gets only 7fps. It's night and day difference. It's worth the extra 40% price when you can find this version on sale (check Adorama via ebay) I'm using Blue Iris and the BI iPhone app. Because my PC holds the constant connection to the camera it allows the app to do a lot less work. I highly recommend this setup.

bad support, or no support at all

By

from U.S.

I'm a technology guy and it's frustrating to see that the manual is badly written. I figured it out all by myself. IPAD doesn't let Safari download the plug-in.
