About Flashpoint

• This reflector puts out direct, very soft light. The wide angle beam is great for portraits of two or three people. Although the light softened, f/stop loss is kept to a minimum because of the design of this large reflector.
• In still life product photography, using this reflector eliminates unwanted shadows and reduces "hot spots" of reflected light which prevents the details of the object from being photographed. Some photographers use a beauty dish as their standard mainlight reflector.

Availabe in 16" 21" 27" in white and silver.

Flashpoint Features

  • Adorama Valuable Bundle. Kit Includes.
  • 22" White Beauty Dish.
  • Beauty Dish Adaptor Ring for Flashpoint Mount, Glow 1 Year USA Warranty.

Excellent reflector

This beauty dish is very nice. Comes with the diffusion sock and the deflector is adjustable. The white inside gives off a nice quality light but with the diffuser is much softer. Fits the Flashpoint II 620a perfectly. I will be ordering the grid this week. Hard to beat this product for the price. A great addition to my studio.

fits my budget so i took the plunge!

I needed a quick purchase for a studio session and my budget was low. the output is great and the color was spot on. I haven't done much studio work so I bought this on suggestion. Can't use it until the adapter is back i

By

I like the oonstruction and build of the beauty dish I think that the vendor should have advised that an adapter is needed. The product description says for all Flashpoint strobes and that's misleading. It's not for the basic Flashpoint strobe. It wasn't until I got the item and went back to read the spec page to see its for Flashpoint II and DG series strobes. Still waiting on a back order adapter.

It's A beauty!

Works perfectly with my Flashpoint monolights. The construction and finish are better than expected, a good value for the cost. Comes with a nylon diffusion sock.

Excellent Modifier

By

This is great for fashion photography. The light fall off is great and I love the catch lights. I live that it comes with a sock and the sick fits quite nicely. Excellent build quality - I have no idea why BDs for other mfgrs cost five times what this one costs. Excellent bang for the buck. Only negative is the size and lack of a carry case for it. By come on - a 21" BD is 21" - kind of hard to do something with the size. I am really pleased with this purchase.

My first beauty dish

By

This is my first dish, so I can not compare it to others. I am teaching myself studio lighting until I master it - and then I will learn some more - because I've always mostly shot on location. I really do like this dish, though. The quality of the light is soft and even, with just a hint of moonglow to it if not diffused. I have not tried it with a grid. My previous experience was mostly with softboxes, so this is a great addition to my list of modifiers. I thought it was a little pricey, but after receiving it and seeing it's sturdy construction - and its effects - I'm happy with what I paid.

Questions about this item:

Gil C  What is the main difference/purpose for choosing between the 16 or 21 inch beauty dish provided I would use either with the 320 monolight?
GABRIEL D  I wondered the same thing when making my purchase some time back, and found that the larger dish would provide a softer light. Generally speaking, the broader (bigger) the light, the softer it will be.
Gil C  Well, thank you! You just generated a sale for Adorama. I have always done some footwork before I purchase something. Specially with things that are in a field as complex as photography lighting. Thank you adorama for having this service to allow us to ask people in the trenches. Again, thank you Gabriel for your quick response!
