The powerful and innovative H5 aluminum ballhead from 3POD's H series employs an advanced hydraulic damping system for silky smooth movement while securely supporting a payload of up to 55 pounds. The smooth movement of the ball itself is controlled with precise adjustment knobs, and the panning base features 360º of movement with a highly visible positioning dial, perfect for techniques like panoramic splicing where exactness is a must. The 33mm ball 'floats' in a superhard CNC forged aluminum shell.
The patented rapid locking quick release plate system, features an adjustable locking force control, universal ¼" mounting screw suitable for cameras of all sizes and snaps automatically to the body of the ballhead for a secure, protective mount, as illustrated in the photo gallery, frames 11b-11f. The quick release plate includes a hexagon wrench kit for making fine adjustments to the limiting screw, the fixing screw on the ballhead and the connecting platform.
The H5 can be fastened to a tripod body or center column for a wide variety of projects, or can be used alone as a tabletop mount for close-range photography.
