Nice scanner...BUT

Does not work well with all photos. You will get a reflection of the cavity of the scanner in the center of your glossy and semi-gloss pictures. Also all pictures do not fit in the supplied frames. You will use a lot of tape and cropping and good luck getting a picture out of that sealed cavity as it does not not open! I will try to return it but I doubt Adorama will take it back.

Quick and Portable;almost convenient

By

Have a large inventory of vacation and family pictures that need to be digitized, including many photos and slides plus a few 35 mm negatives. This product lets you work close to the bookcases where the physical albums reside. Huge advantage in not havong to cart the hard copy to my computer hutch. The documentation could be better, but once you get it, its a piece of cake.

Mixed Results

By

from Worldwide  -  Frequent User

I'm trying to convert several thousand slides to digital format. With bright images, the scanner is okay. But with portraits or low light slides (the collection is from three years of street photography), the scanner fails. For professional work or where accuracy of the scan is critical, this is not the machine to use.

User Friendly Convenient

Allows you to digitize traditional photos without any computer hookup. Great - many shoe boxes of family history stuffed in one SD chip. Picture holder masks outer edges of print.

Scanned negatives have blue tint.

By

from Wilmington, DE  -  Casual User

My purpose for the scanner was to scan color negatives into memory card, and then load them into a digital picture frame. The images from the scanned negatives had a blue cast. Scanned images from glossy prints were dark. Unit locked-up several times and had to be unplugged in order to reset. Instruction manual is vague. My regret is that I didn't evaluate the unit when it first arrived rather than after the 30 day return date for a refund.

Will not scan slides in 2:3 ratio

By

from NYC  -  Frequent User

I would not recommend this scanner as it cannot scan in a 2:3 ratio. This means that scanned slides are automatically cropped. That makes it useless for me.

Would not work -- twice!

By

Ordered, but, due to misundestanding, rec'd an open box model, which was missing the instructions. Regardless, it would not work. Returned, rec'd new product and it would not turn on either! [...]

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
RON H  It is easy, reliable to use and produces sharp, clear copies. Switching from one form of media to another takes only seconds.
Shopper  does it scan 6x6 film?
WILSON R  I don't know but I will tell you I was disappointed in the versitility of the scanner. I had problems with the variation of slides working without cropping parts of the image. If the photo/slide/negative doesn't fit in the plastic holder then it will not properly scan the image.
