Nice kit for the money
I bought two of these softboxes primarily for music video shoots. Let me first say that for the money, this is a great buy. The softbox itself sets up very quickly and opens just like an umbrella. The 70w bulb gives off a nice even, soft light; although it wasn't quite as bright as I thought it would be, it was still quite adequate for portrait types of shots.Now for the negative. THESE STANDS ARE ABSOLUTE TRASH. Like I said, I bought two of these kits. When they arrived, one of the light stands was broken. They are flimsy aluminum with PLASTIC connector pieces... a recipe for disaster. I contacted Adorama and they quickly had another one sent to me. Two days later, another stand arrived.... broken even worse than the first one. Moral of the story: buy some legitimate stands. Being that I got the softbox, bulb and stand for [$], I can't really complain though, since most places sell the softbox ALONE for that much or more.Overall, buy the kit.... buy some decent stands... if the kit stands arrive in one piece, tuck em away for the rainiest of days.
