The product was sturdy but did not attach properly to a tripod without wobbling and shifting. I added an adaptor and finally utilized foam and electrical tape to secure the laptop platform to the tripod head with minimal tilting or shifting. Disappointing but the price is reasonable.

This is a nice platform to use on top of a light stand or tripod. I looked around for a while trying to find something less than the $150+ laptop stands out there, and this does the job. I've used this for my laptop and also a projector.

The representative's word was good and his assurance of the product quality produced the sale.

It would not lock down onto a light stand nor onto a ball head attached to a tripod. There is hand nut - but even when tightened fully there is too much slack, and it will slide side to side freely. It seems most stable if you put it to one extreme of the sliding hole, but then its not distributing the weight symmetrically and might fall. And it does not stay in that position well. There is no way I would put a laptop computer on this. Its also somewhat heavier than expected like an iron frying pan. I expected to have a rubberized surface but its just plain cast iron. Its not really comfortable to the touch. I see that Manfrotto makes one of these too but not sure if that is better made.

I mounted this on a pro line tripod to support my laptop while shooting video. It is very sturdy and does the job well.

I bought this great little item to help complete a simple teleprompter solution for making videos. All we do is mount a small laptop on the tripod notebook platform, run the teleprompter software and our subject looks directly toward the camera instead of down at their scribbled notes.

Finally a place to put things (light meters, lens changing etc). I would think twice about carrying this in rough terrain, but on short walks & mostly level areas this device is a perfect size & travels well. My only complaint was the use of 1/4 size threads in one of the holes. If they were 3/8 you can always use an adapter - but not the other way around. Yes, I also use it for my computer, but then you need an additional tripod for your camera, & there's no easy way to fasten the computer to the platform, & you have dangling connection wires, etc. (These can be a real pain at an unfamiliar location, but they are less so in studio settings where you are more in control).

The Flashpoint tripod platform is 10" x 14" and mounts on a 1/4"or 3/8 standard tripod head allowing you to hold a notebook on your tripod when shooting. You will need some velcro or strap for additional security.
Best when used with a ball head.
