About Flashpoint

• Adorama has studied for many years the needs and wants of the beginner, advanced and professional photographer. All the equipment that bears the Flashpoint name meets these essential qualifications, equipment that is dependable at a fair price. The Flashpoint Carbon Fiber Tripods are yet another fine example that follows in the Flashpoint tradition; high quality tripods that can go the distance. Made to Adorama's specifications, you'll feel the quality the first time you set it up. Leg locks that work! They open and close with ease. Pride of ownership is only a small reason to have one of these fine tripods in your equipment bag.
• Featuring classic European Styling, these Flashpoint tripods have all the features of other carbon fiber tripods, except the high price. Besides its legendary light weight, carbon fiber does not transfer heat like aluminum, but does absorb vibrations. This feature helps to insure sharper images.
• All Flashpoint tripod legs have rubber double-grip twist locks. The center column can be separated into a low column for ground level use. The supplied wrench can adjust the leg friction to match the photographers needs. Leg tips can be set with either a rubber pad or ground spike for rugged terrain.

Very good value, but not a great product

It's "decent", it's light, and price is right. I've been using it with a RSS monopod head for various purposes...lecturers, concerts, landscapes, macros, travel, museums where you can't use a tripod. It's a niche product, not for everyone. Good monopod for a casual user, but not sturdy nor reliable enough for regular or pro use. I'm planning to get a cheap head and leave this monopod in my car for those unplanned killer sunsets. I'm replacing it with a Gitzo 2-series monopod in CF or Basalt for regular use with the RSS head. I've got Gitzo 2-series and 3-series tripods and they are superb in every way (except a bit expensive).

Useful Monopod

By

from Staten Island, NY  -  Photo Enthusiast

Iv used this monopod mainly to shoot with my 55-200mm non-VR lens at full zoom. With a long focal length & non VR even during daylight the mildest of shakes blurs your shot. Iv found this monopod useful for such cases. It is also compact and goes into my backpack so I can take it along when Im out hiking. It is compact and easy to setup. If u have a VR lenses don't bother to buy this monopod.

Great Monopod at a Great Price

By

from Wellborn, FL.  -  Photo Enthusiast

I almost purchased the $400 Monopod, but [...] I took a chance. I'm glad I did. I got a great Monopod and saved over $300.
