While most people prefer to place family photos in albums, I chose to remove 35 years of my photos from albums to make individual photo boxes for each of my 2 children and 4 grandchildren. In each box is a selection of maternal & paternal ancestry photos, a copy of all of my school photos and [for the grandchildren] a copy of their parent's & aunt/uncle's school pictures. I keep each box current by adding recent photos. Each photo is stored in 4x6 glassine or 4x5 plastine envelopes to help maintain the integrity of each photo. I am extremely satisfied with the 4x5 plastine envelopes that I used for all my decades-old photos.

Translucent plastine envelopes are available in all photographic sizes and formats. They are made of the highest quality archival polyethylene. These envelopes are perfect for the archival storage of both negatives and prints, both silver and digital. These archival acid-free preservers have a dye-cut open end (or side) for easy opening and to avoid negative hangups.
