I simply love this shredder! We were able to get it on sale but I would have honestly bought it for full price after experiencing its efficiency. It looks great, compliments our home and gets the job done quick fast and in a hurry! Great buy!

Works great so far (I've only had it for about a week), performs exactly as described in the literature. Shreds well without getting bogged down and maintenance is easy, just add vegetable oil to the teeth after emptying the bin.

This is the second shredder we have purchased this year and the third one over all. We decided to do a little homework this time. We are pleased so far with the performance so far. We have used it longer than the recommended 2-4 minutes with no problems, will not make it a habit. The performance quality has been excellent over so far.

DS-2 Cross-Cut Shredder is great. I've only had it about a week or so. My old one was cheap. This one is well made.

new ds-2 replaced a finally dead fellowes 30110 that had been worked to death for about 4 yrs. the only brand i will ever buy. had a problem one time and fellowes replaced it immediately and with no excuses and no foreigners that i couldnt understand answered the phone!! the new ds-2 is not quite as tough as the 30110 so i have returned it for the ds-3 which will handle a bit more pages. its easier to lift of the top and empty the bin than the wastebasket type, with no little pieces of paper ending up all over the place.

Reasonably priced, easy to empty, and safe to have in the home where children maybe curious about the shredder. The cross cut makes it impossible to put shredded paper 'back together', and it easily shredded credit cards and CD/s It does slow down with 8 pieces of paper, but still gets the job done.

Quiet and efficient. When you purchase one of these machines, you get what you pay for. The price range for this model was more than I wanted to pay but its performance has dimmed that thought. I'm a satisfied customer.

Iv'e gone thru 3 tough machines - Office max and Aurora and another I can't remember the name. They were Wimpy compared to this model, Fellowes DS-2. Sort of a little breeze compared to a hurricane. I was pleasently pleased when I first used it. Knowing that it is safe, I still imagined it was so powerful I wouldn't want to get my hand in there! Thank you for building a product which is more than expected.

This is a very nice shredder. I love that it has a handle to lift off the shrdder when it is time to empty the container. The one I had before was very awkword for me as I am disabled. It was heavy and hard for me to lift, I had to roll it onto my lap. This one is fantastic in that aspect. I just lift with the handle and set it on the floor. Simple. The only dislike is that it is pretty noisy, but that is something I can surley live with. I love my new shredder!

I have 2 or 3 shredders in the past and this one is the best. I am retired and I run a seniors golf league in the summer, also on the board of directors of a condo association and have a fair amount of paper to shred. My 32050 does a good job but has one weakness. The auto start and stop stopped working a few months after I got it so now I have to manually start and stop it . No big deal but I like all the features to work.

I originally bought the DS-2 for a specific project (paper file purge). It performed beautifully for the project and I have since had many occasions to make further use of it. I should have made the purchase long ago. Terrific value!!

I bought this to replace an aging Fellowes entry level shredder. I wasn't a fan of the old shredder as it would only shred one page at a time and didn't make very fine pieces. It also jammed frequently, was noisy and recently burned out permanently after being fed a couple of dozen pages in a single session. What a nice difference in the DS-2. It consistently shreds into very fine strips that would be impossible to piece together. It can handle a maximum of 6 sheets at time but won't handle the advertised 8 sheets. I also feed it unopened junk mail and the resulting shreds are indistinguishable from any other shredded paper. It does bog down (motor slows significantly) when more than 4 sheets are fed at a time but even when it has bogged down the resulting shreds are consistent with the results from a single page. The DS-2 is much quieter than my older shredder and I would rate the noise level as low (good). I did test a couple of machines in the store that were quieter but they were also much more expensive. I like the look of the shredder overall. The can that comes with it has a good capacity. The shredder portion lifts off the can very nicely with the attached handle that gracefully tucks away when the can is in use. I can find no major flaws in the design. There are some nice safety features that temporarily shut off the shredding if your hand comes near the paper throat. This would be ideal for anyone with young kids. It also has a safety switch that temporarily turns the shredder off if the shredder is lifted off the basket. While this is a nice safety feature it means the shredder can only be used on the included can. I have also found the switch to occasionally be temperamental. I can see this as a potential cause of problems with some units. In fact I returned a unit to the store for exchange as I couldn't get it to work. I suspect this may have been the culprit. I would definitely buy this unit again at the $60 price I paid. It offers good value for the money and appears to be a solid performer. Time will tell.

After looking at many reviews, we decided on this shredder because it was rated for moderate use. We had another brand that was rated light duty and just was not adequate and didn't last long. After using this for a couple of weeks, I would heartily reccomend it. We have had quite a back up of shredding to do and have kept it busy. I do suggest oiling it after you fill a couple of bins. Very Happy with this purchase.
