Best ever shredder
I have tried several shredders and so far no one is equivalent to the P45C shredder. It is so easy to operate and I like the large opening at the top. The others I have tried are very difficult to insert the paper. The openings are too narrow. If I can find another P45C by Fellowes, please let me know because I will be your next buyer.

Good machine for very light home/ home office use. but....
Love the cross cut for security; very stable, well built, reliable; auto on/off feature nice; can put 2-3 pages with staples at a time, no prob. Easy to empty. My only issue is the capacity of the catcher - if you're doing more than just a few pages (eg, cleaning out your home office once in awhile) the cut paper piles up right under the cutter, and you have to manually move the paper around to get it to keep cutting without jamming - or empty it frequently. While the top is easily removed, you can't move the top to something with larger capacity - will only work on the base that is supplied. Am searching for unit with large capacity without going to very expensive office grade. Also, per other comment, this unit is a little noisy.

Endless Deafening Screech!
I bought this unit to replace a similar Fellowes shredder that I accidentally ruined by feeding it a metal object. The plastic components of this style and the all-metal shredding mechanism should make it a real work horse, but I find that feeding no more than a couple of sheets at a time is all it can take, just like the previous model. Even though the black safety flap Fellowes used to put on the bottom broke off way too easily, I would have preferred that to the new cover they've screwed on over the front opening. I'll have to remove it to be able to toss small scraps directly in the bin. The old model I had made a low-pitched grumble while it worked. This one makes an endless deafening screech while it operates that will necessitate that I wear hearing protection each and every time I use it. Fellowes, what are you thinking???
