Best Present EVER!!! I have had and lost two Gerber 06 Drop Point knives. When my girlfriend surprised this MARINE with one for my resent birthday, it made my day complete. SO VERY HAPPY!!!!

I got my 06 Auto in 2007, it has been a constant companion ever since. This knife has been used and abused for 15 solid years. The clip broke about ten years ago, Gerber sent replacement parts immediately. Finally after spending its days gutting deer, bayoneting firewood and a million other daily tasks..the spring system gave out. I contacted Gerber, and they sent me a brand new knife. Gerber has an exceptional commitment to their products and I could not be happier with their products and service. Getting my brand new knife in pristine condition was the best Christmas present ever! Thank you to all those who made this possible!

I love my 06 auto but my clip broke so I now am unable to use it as a daily. And it broke in a very expected and hard to fix places so I need to find a new clip but besides that its great

I have had this knife since 2011 and have carried it everywhere everyday. Its been through 2 tours in Afghan, and its been a daily user ever since. never had an issue besides the clip snapping off. (which Gerber covered for free). Today the auto spring finally gave out sadly, but 10 years of use and abuse on a knife with minimal issues is a win in my book. Solid body and nice blade. I have even used it as a hammer before back in 2012 and it held like a champ. If anyone is looking for a decent knife to last IMO I'd pick up one of these!

Like other reviews it sometimes opens slow or not completely. It's a little disappointing. I have noticed if its not use a lot it happens. If you oil it and use it a lot it seems fine...

I'm not a police officer nor ever been in armed forces but this knife, to me personally, is the best in the world! It literally saved my life twice and Gerber's amazing warranty and customer service have always been there for me, no matter what. I can't think of a better company to buy a knife from and can't think of a better knife to have on you when life throws issues at you that can only he solved with a dependable, well-made cutting instrument. I wish Gerber made the same version with Ball bearings but, as long as it doesn't exist, I will be more than happy with this one!

I own dozens of Gerber knives, but this is their flagship. The 06 is balanced, sturdy, well made. Tough beyond belief. While some have drifted away from Gerber due to other product lines, come back. Their higher end knives are fantastic, and this is one of the ones you have to have. It's iconic!

I own many Gerber products. This of course with the 06 background is the best. A tank of a knife. You know you are holding a quality product. It's not as snappy as some autos due to blade weight, but it's a staple of any knife holder. Look at the 06 G10 version as well. In my opinion not as balanced as aluminum original, but more nimble and grippy. Enjoy.

There's few things in life that you can rely on with out a doubt guns fail bullets fail electronics fail this knife doesn't when you need it what can go wrong will go wrong that doesn't apply to this knife it won't fail it is well thought out I've been using Gerber knives for years at sea in dirt and sand and this is by far my favorite

Great knife, fits my hand, and is smooth opening. Durable, and I've cut boxes, hogs and a host of other things with this. Wish they'd put a serrated edge on the multicam version.

I amassed a larger collection of knives on active duty, this is perhaps my favorite 2nd to my Yarbrough knife (I had to earn that one). This blade accompanied me on many ops where an auto open was an asset and I appreciated the complete lack of play when open.

This is the best knife I have ever owned. I was given this knife while in the Marines on my 2007 Iraq deployment. I have used and abused this knife for the last 10 years and it still holds up to anything I continue to throw at it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good carry knife. I even recommended it to one of my Chiefs and he now has a new one and loves it. I would love to purchase the 10th Anniversary edition to go with my original from 2007.

Good knife. Great for slicing open MREs, looks cool being able to flip it open one handed but hard to slash and stab, the handle is smooth so it wants to slide around in your hand, at the moment of impact, when it gets stuck inside again the grip being smooth makes it hard to yank out.

I use this for everyday carry on the job. It is the best knife I've ever owned. Well worth the price given its durability. the only fault I've found, and it is a minor one, is that the release mechanism can get dirty and become tough to use. You can always pull it out but sometimes the auto function is tough. A run through the dishwasher followed by a good rinse and some lube and its back in action! Very durable!!!

In 2006, during combat operations in Iraq, this knife was issued to my platoon. 4 combat deployments later and she's still holding on strong. This is my favorite knife by far! I am going on 10 years with her and I haven't had one complaint. In short, this is a great, tough product that is ready for whatever comes its way.

I got this knife a few years back as a secondary egress knife. I use it for everything it wasn't meant to do. As a carpentry hobbyist, I use it in place of a chisel for light work, even striking the blade with a small hammer from time to time. It has held up to many years of abuse. I would probably plunge into a state of depression if I lost this go-to, heavy duty auto folding knife.
