Good purchase!

Uses: main source of light, fill light, shadow reduction behind the main subject, hair highlighting -- anything you'd use a flash for, but with continuous light instead of a flash, and with color control to match available light or to effect desired color tone, from quite cool to quite warm. Since the light output is adjustable, a higher maximum output would be good for longer range bounced light scenarios, but it is usable in a wide range of situations as it is. Adjusting the angle for non-head-on lighting is limited to a few pre-defined postions, and is too awkward to change quickly while shooting. A tensioned ball joint, for example, would be a big improvement. This, however, should not stop you from buying this item. Overall: good purchase.
