Great Ball Head
I've been using this ball head for a couple of years along with the giottos MH-621 Quick Release Assembly and it is a great combination. I use it for landscape and night work and am rarely without it.

User Friendly
I use this ball head with my Giottos MTL9371B aluminum tripod. It is heavy, but provides excellent stability. It has all the features of more expensive ball heads. The large knobs are easy to use even with gloves on doing winter photos. It locks down easily with a gentle pressure on the knob. The tension control is very touchy--too little and the camera swing freely, and too much, and you have to force the camera to move. However, with practice, you can come up with a happy medium.
