Great price for a great product

I love the way this matches with the mac design. I looked at this product both in stores and online, and nothing beat Adorama in pricing. Definitely the best bang for your buck.

Best drive for my needs

By

from Chicago, IL  -  Power user

I bought this drive a few weeks ago and so far I am very pleased with the performance. I use it exclusively for video editing, where I need a fast drive and a lot of space, and I have edited anything from DSLR to RED camera projects. The FW and eSata ports are great and all I needed - there are versions of this drive with USB 3.0 and/or thunderbolt ports for those who absolutely need them, but for me this drive was the best bang for the buck.

Great connectivity and easy to set up!

By

from San Francisco  -  Power user

I have just started using the drive so I can't speak on long term reliability, but I have had g drives in the past and they haven't failed yet. The drive is a little noisy but maybe I'm just used to solid state. Overall very happy with my decision.

I recommend this product

By

from Norfolk, VA  -  Casual user

Product is great -- I backup all of my photos and videos. It's super easy to install and use. I would have given it 5 stars if I would have been able to plug it into my iMac Thunderbolt connection. Lots of connections available, but not that one. Still a super product!

Great drive......fast eSATA connection..

By

I've used G-Tech back-up hard disk drives for about six years and have never had any problems. I've stored approximately 20,000 photos -- RAW files, TIFF files and jpegs without a single failure or lost file. Originally I had the 500GB model, which I outgrew after about four years. I'm currently using the 2TB model and believe it will serve my purposes four the next 8-10 years. The G-Tech units have run very quietly and been extremely reliable.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  How does this compare with the LaCie Starck USB 2.0 2TB?
WILLIAM G  I like Glyph better.
Henry B  How hard is it to hookup to a pc? and which is better for a pc owner to use, the fire wire or the usb?
Andrew R  Installation should be relatively straightforward. It is unlikely (possible, but unlikely) that your PC is equipped with Firewire (400 or 800). USB 2.0 is most likely the best bet for use on a PC (though eSATA and Firewire 800 offer higher data transfer rates).
Shopper  What is the decibel rating of this unit? (How much noise does it generate?)
Andrew R  Unfortunately the manufacturer does not specify a decibel rating for this unit.
