Extremely Impressed!!!!

My Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 and my 498 head were stolen from my truck about three weeks ago while in Salt Lake City. I replaced them with this tripod and the Arca Swiss P0 head. All I can say is thanks! to the punks that broke into my truck. It was a blessing in disguise. I was worried that going to a 4 extension instead of the 3 extension legs would be a little less stable. This is every bit as stable as my Manfrotto and the twist legs are so much easier to set up than the clamps. It comes complete with a really nice case and tool kit. Very, very impressed. Lighter and more compact than my Manfrotto and just as sturdy!!

!!!Great Tripod!!!

Great tripod! I paired it with the Giottos MH-1001 Pro Medium Ball Head. Works great! I use it for portraits and travel mostly.

What a great value!

I listed this review on another website, and I just want to make sure people do not overlook this amazing bargain of a tripod. I've long since been a Gitzo owner/fan and often wondered what the "knock offs" were like. I always figured you get what you pay for, but boy was I wrong! For a fraction of what I paid for my new and used Gitzo's I got everything in a tripod I was looking for. This tripod also allows you to turn the center column 90 degrees, which can be especially convenient with macro work. It comes with all the bells and whistles that I was so accustomed to buying seperately with my Gitzo setups. Spiked feet, comes with it. Tripod bag AND strap, comes with it. Built in level, comes with it. Foam protection padding, comes with it. Adjustable center column (and comes with tool kit along with a fixed mount center column), comes with it...just screw on the head of your choice and mount your camera/lens setup and you are all set! What a deal! My only concern is the 15 lbs weight limit when using heavy telephotos, which obviously requires me moving to my 3 or 5 series Gitzo...which is less than 10% of my shooting, the other 90% I am good to go.

About Giottos MT-8350

This new design is destined to be the year's most popular professional tripod. The MT series tripod has unique style, and is highly versatile. Its legs and column are made from carbon fiber for lightness, strength and rigidity.

The patented multi-function center column allows for 180-degree vertical movement and 360-degree horizontal rotation as a lateral arm. It features a universal 3-way head when used without the camera plate of the center column, and the safety knob is locked.

  • Bubble level & camera screw: With bubble level to adjust horizontal position quickly and easily. With dual camera screws for 1/4" and 3/8".
  • 3 positions: Pull the quick release lock to change leg spread angles allows setting each leg at different positions.
  • No matter what style of photography yours is, the Innovator helps you discover new ways of using a tripod. It holds your camera steadily in locations you have never imagined, and allows you to capture images previously beyond your horizons.
  • Universal 3-way head function when in the lowest position
  • Separable camera mount: Remove the plate from the column by using the allen wrench for use as a built-in 3-way head
  • Safety locking knob
  • Multi-position center column: The center column can be used up side down, reversed, or as a lateral arm for nature and micro photography. It allows 360 degree horizontal and 180 degree vertical adjustment. The column can be positioned and set quickly with the locking knob.
  • Multifunction shoes option: Professional multifunction optional shoes provide stability in snow, mud, tile, sand, slippery floor and soft ground etc. You can push in a twig or long nail to fix the shoes when on the sand or snow.
  • Spike inside rubber foot: Removable universal rubber foot covers a metal spike to assure non-slip contact with the ground. The spikes are designed for use in wet soil, gravel or rocky areas.
