The legs are little tight, but probably because I haven't had the time to figure out how to adjust them. The tripod does come with a tool set, so I should figure out how to use it.

did a lot of searching on net before i decided on the Giottos. Was planning on Bogen/Manfrotto but noted the horizontal adjustibility of the center post on the Giottos was more flexible. The MH-9370 dosent collapse too short and isnt as light as the carbon models but will fulfil most users needs at a reasonable price.. A very nice looking and well thought out unit, comes with a strap, toolkit and a impressive bag that will hold tripod and head... I am very satisifed with my choice. I dont use a tripod as much as some and I couldnt see [$]+ for a "pro" model.. So far has been really great.. Oh I did have a problem with the 1/4 and 3/8 dual size mounting screw.. I just removed it and replaced it with a 3/8 bolt not a bother anymore it was a simple fix..

The MT Series Tripods have a unique style and are highly versatile. The legs and column are made from seamless aluminum tubing for lightness, strength and rigidity. The center column can be used up side down, reversed, or as a lateral arm for nature and micro photography.
It allows for 360 degree horizontal and 180 degree vertical adjustment. The column can be positioned and set quickly with the locking knob. The tripod features a universal 3-way head when used without the camera plate of the center column and the safety knob is locked.
