Finished with a hard black anodization, it's made from a solid piece of high quality aluminum. Besides the Gitzo spcific PTFE treatment make it smooth and avoid strachings on plates. Even if it is a very ultra light piece of equipment, it locks solidly onto the head, being also campatible with the Gitzo quick release safety system.
