Go Remote!

This remote timer is small, lightweight, and connects via the remote connection on the side of the camera. Two cables are supplied so it works with both types of Canon connections. I have tested it with both a Canon 5d (classic) and a 5d Mark III. Works great with both. I have not tested it to the maximum of its distance, but I know it works to within 50 feet.

Arrived basically DOA

The remote cable jack in the reciever is defective. To push the cable in enough, you'll need a rubber band or something else, since the slightest vibration will make the cable lose contact and then it's useless. A simple thing that should have been caught with decent QA.

Fantastic Concept, Horrible Design

By

from Oklahoma and beyond  -  Professional

I was very excited to see this product. I purchased it to do extended length exposures at dusk and at night and to be able to do automated shooting when I was not near the camera. This it will. However, the design on this product - specifically the transmitter - is just bad. 1) The transmitter screen is so small and the text on it is so small I have problems reading it with my 50 yr old eyes. 2) The buttons are too small to operate with gloves on. 3) No lock button on the transmitter. If you put the transmitter in your pocket and retrieve it, it is highly likely that you will have bumped the navigation and you are now in a different mode. 4) Transmitter auto off is too quick. Tried to use it in a portrait session and it kept turning itself off in less than a few minutes. 5) 300'? Try 30'. I had problems with a clean line of sight at 40' with the transmitter tripping the camera. 6) Battery in transmitter is not field replaceable (unless you packed a micro-screwdriver). I love the feature set and I will use it for automated and extended shooting. This could have been a fantastic product had they not comprismised on the size of the transmitter.

Pleasantly Surprised

Shooting baby pictures and capturing each expression, alone, would be impossible without a remote. This one has not failed yet. Having a Bulb option is icing on the cake.

Can't trust it!

By

from Dallas, TX  -  Semi-Professional

Works fine when it works. My biggest complaint is the that the transmit unit does not auto-shutoff after a certain amount of time...so if you forget to turn it off the next time you pull it out of your bag the battery is dead. Very bad design. The menu is a little confusing to get all the functions to work, but it's workable when you get used to it.

GREAT GADGET

Great for keeping your hands off the camera for tripod mounts. You could get in the picture also, without having to run.

Great Product

By

from Lynnwood, WA  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

The Giga T Pro--works great. I was able to follow the included instructions and get all functions to work without difficulty. The N3 connector on the supplied cable is a little flaky as the connector doesn't lock like the canon models--fits somewhat loose and can give an intermittent connection. Other than that a great product and I have recommended it to my friends.

Great product--All the functions interval, long exposure, self timer, continuous burst, timed burst are at your finger tips. The instruction sheet is short but accurate and easy to follow. I am very satisfied with this product.

Junk. Two units were not functional. Five emails via the company's own email form and no reply. DO NOT trust this one. DM

Questions about this item:

Bob B  I use wireless strobes for my studio so I insert my control in the hot shoe. Does this device have to be inserted into the hot shoe or can it be secured to the tripod and plugged in on the side? I sometimes have to shoot pretty fast so can this unit do the job? Will this work with a Canon 50D?
JOHN S  I use Acupuncture remotes to fire my strobes.
Shopper  Can I use this on a Canon T3I Rebel which requires a pin connection different than a 60 D or a 7D? thanks, Jim
CATHY E  This should work. I have used on my rebel camera quite effectively. The 2 key pieces are (1) an available spot on top of the camera where a flash would typically be mounted. The receiver would be mounted there. (2) A supplied cord is connected from the receiver to a "electronic shutter release". It is next to video input and under a plastic cover on left side of my rebel camera. Then you hold the transmitter remote from the camera to take a picture. I love it! thanks John Emrich
Shopper  Does this work for the 60d?
CATHY E  I apologize for tardy response. This should work on the 60d. All that is required is (a) hot shoe on top of camera where you mount a flash and (b) an electronic remote shutter release on your 60d. The hot shoe (a) is where you place the wireless receiver, and a provided cable that connects to electronic shutter release (b). You are provided a handheld transmitter that you can remotely activate the shutter. thanks John Emrich
