This worked great until it didn't. It quit after only a few months of very light use as in maybe 3-4 times a month. I won't buy again.

It was surprisingly incredible with the speed in which my photos were downloaded into Adobe CS4 bridge. I use to have time to do other things and return but this worked faster than I imagined.

I had a model that looked similar from another company and it was fire wire, it failed after a month They replaced it and the new one didnt even work, I got tired of returning and exchangeing and had heard alot about hoodman, so I bought this one it is awsome even faster than fire wire! Koodos to hoodman! Plus it has SD and CF readers both of which I use. You will not be disappointed!

It just plain does what it's supposed to do—transfer data from the card to your hard drive.

I use the Hoodman Memory card reader to transfer raw & jpeg files to my computers. The files are on the computer in seconds. I like the lights on the unit that tell me its working.

All you have to do is plug it into a USB port. It installs itself. Downloads are blistering fast and very accurate.

One rate limiting step in getting new SDHC or CF cards is the transfer to your computer - I never realized how slow it took until I got this Hoodman USB reader; apparently with UDMA cards (fastest CF cards for pro bodies), the transfer rate is up to 45 MB/sec. I only use SDHC (8 and 16GB) and the reduction in transfer was mind-blowing - almost 90% faster than the other USB interfaces I have used. I purchased on sale here, worth considering!

I purchased this card 3 days ago from Adorama. The day I got it I downloaded 2.23 gigabytes from a 4gb high-speed card in 2 minutes. Images were 4 to 5 mb from my DSLR. Also found that images erased (in camera) and that card formatted far faster than my old card. my computer recognized it immediately and was speedy regardless of USB port chosen.
