Another Top-Quality Hoya Filter

I bought this Hoya filter from Adorama to use as a protector for the front element of my new Tokina 100mm macro lens. I specifically chose this Hoya filter because of: 1) My previous experience with Hoya filters has been excellent, and 2) The filter is multi-coated. After all, if you had just spent a lot of your money for a lens that has multi-coated elements to keep down internal reflections, why would you add an element to the front of the lens that was not also multi-coated? Just like all the other Hoya filters I have owned, this one arrived in perfect condition, with clean mounting threads and flawless glass. Final word: although I do consider this to be a first-class filter, you must remember that its rim construction is aluminum or a similar semi-soft metal. DON'T screw it or any other similarly constructed filter too tightly to your lens, or you may deform the threads and literally weld the filter to your lens. And, that would not be good.

The low-profile frame alsomakes the filters compatible with a wide array of super and ultra wide-angle lenses.
