The Flashpoint battery came as part of a Pentax 'kit'. The first one wouldn't take a charge. Adorable replaced it. Even new, the Flash Point never held a charge even close to the Pentax OEM battery. It's a few years old now, but the replacement battery will not retain a charge. Fully charged, it only lasts a few shots.

Have used this battery to power my K5. I shoot daily and often in "burst" as well as low light and night sky. Batteries are long lasting - at least a year to 18 months (I rotate 4). Have compared them with brand name and see no difference in length of charge.

I have to give it a 5 due to the price you can get it for compared to the brand name Pentax Battery. I have noticed no difference in the life of these vs Pentax, and I have had a few of these for quite some time, as I own a k-01, k7, and k5 ii, all take the same battery (thank you Pentax!). I have noticed a difference between these and other third party ones I have tried. Those did not fare so well. I do have to say in my last order, I ordered 3, and 1 of them came with no charge and would not charge at all. I emailed Adorama and they sent me out another one right away.

I bought one of these as a backup when I bought my K-5. Surprisingly it lasts as long as the Pentax battery and charges a bit faster. I have been happy enough with it to purchase two more.

I bought this battery as a backup battery for my K-5. In first, battery life was great, but after a while (a month of use), I noticed that if I don't use the battery for some time (couple of days), it discharges significantly, which is not the case with the original one.

It's good value for a backup battery - I have not had any issues with it so far, I get hundreds of shots from it. Having a spare battery gives me confidence to fire away.

I waited to go through several full discharge cycles to confirm that at least this sample doesn't last more than 250 pictures (no instant review, 10% chimping, 5% > 1s) on K5, as opposed to > 600 for Pentax. Last time it died in the middle of a 1/100s exposure, leaving the mirror up and the file half written on card. I stopped using it and may keep it only as emergency back-up.

Purchased two of these for less than 1/4 of the cost of the factory OEM DLI-90. So far they are every bit as good as the original. NOTE: This battery is NOT a 7.4v 1550mAh battery as indicated, but a 7.2v 2000mAh battery. (The original factory OEM was 7.2v 1850mAh battery). This is MUCH better than the initial specs indicate!

I bought this as part of a package with the Pentax K5. When I saw the package I believed it was an original Pentax what I was buying. The word Pentax showed on the photo of the item. When I received I was a bit dissapointed that it was not a Pentax but a knock-off. However, it charged fast and it has been working just fine. That may prove that the battery does not have to be Pentax to be good.
