Easier on the Wallet than on the Camera

As stated by others before me, this is a decent battery for the price. The battery itself performs as needed for my Panasonic HMC80 and since it's decoded, I seem to get a pretty accurate battery level reading on the EVF. The only caveat about this battery is that it takes a bit of wiggling to get it to lock in place. Once I figured out the angle to insert the battery, it doesn't take too long to get it mounted on the camera. So far, each full charge has lasted about 3 hours.

Won't lock into either camera or charger

Unfortunately, while this battery appears to be exactly the same size as the Panasonic battery, it would not engage with the locking pin in either the Panasonic charger or the AG-HMC80 camera. No amount of twisting, turning, and pushing was successful, so I returned it to Adorama.

Flashpoint VW-VBG6 battery

By

from Chicago  -  Professional

I got this to use in my Panasonic AG-AC160 video camera and despite the mAh rating being pretty comparable to that of the stock Panasonic VW-VBG6, this just doesn't cut the mustard. It lasts maybe an 1.5 hours tops. While the cost is only 1/3 of the Panasonic brand battery, the battery life just doesn't make compare. Running out of juice in the middle of a shoot is not a good thing...

Great price & battery, but doesn't lock

By

I ordered three of these for my AF100 and read that some don't fit properly. Turns out that I got one that fits, and two that just won't lock in place. I'm returning the two defective batteries. Adorama customer service was nice and helpful, they even pay for return shipping. Besides the chance of getting a defective one that won't lock in place, the battery itself is amazing for the price and capacity! I'd still highly recommend it over the ~$150 Panasonic brand.

Great bang for buck!

By

With my Panasonic AF100, I use three generic batteries in addition to the OEM battery, one of which is this Flashpoint battery. While, like most generics, it may last 15-30min less, it holds its charge well, and it is cheap enough that for the cost of one spare OEM battery you can have a bunch of spares and go all day with out worrying about charging.

great battery fot the price....if ti fit

By

from San Fancisco, CA

Ordered 2 when I first got my af100 and they were great, SO much less expensive than the Panasonic Batteries, so I ordered 2 more, however, a while later, when I actually got to use them, they didnt fit, and I had already thrown out the box and let more than 30 days go by.

Recorded 187 minutes straight

By

Bought two -- one wouldn't fit camera or charger. [...] Looks like the Panasonic battery (6 times the cost of this battery) it can replace. Video camera reported 255 min. batt. time at full charge. Recorded video until camera shut down, no pauses. After 60 min., reported 86 min. used. After 2d 60 min., reported 86 more min. used. Next hour, reported 73 min. used. Last 7 minutes reported correctly. 3 hr. 7 min. recording time is great.

Works great on AF100

Great alternative to oem batteries at a fraction of the cost. Slightly less use time, appx. 3 1/2 hours, not sure how long they'll go for, but at this price, who cares?

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
RICK T  Great price. Give me about 5 hours of recording time with my Panasonic HMC40.
Shopper  How is the net weight (gr) of this battery ?
ELI L  I'm not sure of the exact weight, but it's noticeably lighter than a real Panasonic. Doesn't last quite as long, either. I bought two, and one runs my AF100 for about 2 hours, and the other barely lasts more than an hour.
Shopper  does this fit the Panasonic HMC152 and is it chipped ?
Dan G  what is the warranty on this battery?
