I like Canon and it is easy to download to my computer
This was my first point and shoot. I like my DSLRS but sometimes you just want something small. This camera is a little "plasticy" but it does take really nice photographs. I only used it in Program mode, it's very limited on anything manual but Program is as close as it gets. OK, I went to turn it on one day and my hand was blocking the lens from coming out and that was it, broke. It really took hardly any pressure, I quickly moved my hand out of the way but it was too late. Only had it two weeks. Not sure if it was a design flaw or not? I sent it back and got the Canon 1100 IS 12 MP (refurb). It is a little heavier, and not so 'Plasticy". For 25 bucks more, it's worth it, and it has a histogram!! See my review there.
Once you read the manual, it's a breeze! And for some of us, you don't need the manual, it's fun to figure it out. I'm very happy with it..especially for the price!!
I bought three of these -- for my son and two grandsons -- for Christmas gifts. Chose this camera because it was rated very well for the price in Consumer Reports and because i have been so satisfied with my five-year-old and very reliable Powershot A520.
Size and controls are easy to place into a pocket or purse.
I'm a photographic artist and a photo teacher. I bought this camera to keep in my purse for drive-by shootings or quick grab shots that I would normally miss if I didn't have my big camera with me. It's small and light weight, perfect for this use. What I like best about the camera is the Program mode which features ISO settings from 25 to 1600 in addition to exposure compensation, over and under, so there is some degree of exposure control even though it's a point & shoot camera.
Takes great pictures with great overall color. Flash recharge seems to take longer than on any other point & shoot I've owned.
