The PowerShot ELPH 330 HS features a powerful Genuine Canon 10x Zoom Lens that delivers outstanding optical performance and versatility. Fitting a high-performance lens with such wide zoom range into a camera so thin that would normally be considered an impossible feat, but Canon's expert optical engineering met the challenge, developing a lens that achieves outstanding compactness with high zoom power and superb performance. The zoom starts at 24mm wide-angle and extends to 240mm telephoto (35mm equivalent), covering an exceptionally wide range. The telephoto reach gives you the freedom to capture subjects from a considerable distance, while the 24mm wide-angle makes it easy to shoot sweeping landscapes, large groups of people and tall buildings.
Handheld shooting can often lead to camera shake, making photos and videos blurry. Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer is a sophisticated system that uses lens-shift technology to correct for unwanted camera movement. It makes handheld photography more practical, providing excellent image quality in many difficult shooting situations: outdoors at dusk, inside without a flash, and even at the telephoto end of the zoom range without a tripod. For photos, it enables shooting at slower shutter speeds, accommodating more low-light shooting situations than ever before without having to boost ISO sensitivity. With camera shake and vibration reduced, you get a sharper, steadier image. And because it is an optical system, there is none of the image degradation typical with electronic image stabilizers.
The PowerShot ELPH 330 HS employs a Canon 12.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor, which delivers state-of-the-art imaging performance and is optimized for use in compact cameras. Utilizing a sophisticated light-capturing design, it provides high sensitivity for improved high ISO capture with reduced noise. It is also a high-speed design, capable of rapidly capturing and moving image data to the processor, enabling faster continuous shooting and faster autofocus.
The latest-generation Canon DIGIC 5 Image Processor works with the PowerShot ELPH 330 HS's image sensor to bring phenomenal increases in processing speed and power, delivering incredible detail in more situations, without the need for artificial light sources. Improved noise reduction produces clearer images when shooting in low light at high ISO speeds. The faster processing speed results in faster continuous shooting capability while maintaining full image quality. With the power of the DIGIC 5 Image Processor, the PowerShot ELPH 330 HS can achieve higher ISO sensitivity and even perform advanced functions like lens correction, special scene modes and much more.
The PowerShot ELPH 330 HS gives you the power to create images with spectacular depth, detail and emotional resonance. The 12.1 Megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor works in concert with the DIGIC 5 Image Processor to create the renowned Canon HS SYSTEM. With the Canon HS SYSTEM, you'll experience excellent tracking performance even in low light, and achieve gorgeous still image quality even at high ISO speeds all the way up to ISO 6400; beautiful low-light shots are possible with minimal noise and maximum detail in highlight and shadow areas. The Canon HS SYSTEM lets you use higher shutter speeds to capture clearer images with reduced noise and blur in a variety of situations for incredible photos and even when shooting video.
Gave this as a gift to my brother when his Panasonic ZS20 bricked and he needed a good, ultra-compact camera to take on his vacation. Oh, how he loved that Panasonic! But now he has a new love...the Canon ELPH 330HS. He likes that it's smaller than the ZS20, takes great photos and has WiFi. The buttons are a bit small for his beefy hands, and the Canon software is different enough that he actually has to RTFM, but otherwise he is quite pleased. I got a decent price on Adorama--their website is easy to negotiate, free shipping, etc. I've purchased from Adorama in the past and will likely do so in the future. By the way, in my opinion nothing is perfect, so nothing gets 5 stars. Consequently, 4 stars is great.
Used for recording life around me: kids, grandkids, events. The "P" mode has enabled some great Christmas lights outdoor night shots. Wi-Fi was part of the selling point. The details on this took up most of the manual and was daunting enough that I doubt it will ever be used. Nice that it comes with a large 16GB card. The floating focus area on the screen does not always grab what I want to focus on. Not sure how to change to a fixed focal point then reframe. Still new to this camera. Great when I don't want to pull out my D7 and switch lens.
Easy to use, easy to handle and carry around and the pictures it takes are great
Thiis camera it good one
I am a serious DSLR user. I got this for those occasions when I don't want to be carrying around a camera system. For my needs, this is a great everyday walking around camera. It has just enough manual override controls, when I want to do something a bit more serious. I can select the metering balance, change the color balance and adjust the exposure compensation.
I use Nikon DSLR caera for my photography. I bought this for my wife. As I can also use this Point & Shoot camera, if I'm not carrying my camera due to some reason, I did a research on Point & shoot camera before buying this. My finding during research:- - I did not like any point & shoot camera at all at this proce range - I looked at Sony P&S Camera also but it was not as great as Canon. When I got this camera I used this at the day time , night time and result were quite impressive. Like Samsung S4 mobile, it also capture few second video while you shoot photo. (but you can disable that feature if you want) I forgot to mention this camera is fast. There are lot more feature and I cannot describe all here. But the bottom line is that . This Camera is great for Family vacation photography.
Have had the camera for a month now. It takes great photos. However, unlike my 5 year old Canon compact which has the auto rotate function for photos, this one does not. I'm also not sure if I like the 3 sec movie it takes prior to the photo. Overall it is a great camera. Small and light weight. Easy to use.
I have owned this camera for 10 months, bought one now for my daughter-in-law. My daughter has had same for 2 years! We all love it. So tiny, fits in a shirt pocket. Battery life is great but I bought an extra just for special occasions that may need lots of "film". Great zoom, nice large screen, easy settings and many options for shooting conditions! I know it will do so much more than I even use and want to take a class.
Took a little bit to get it set up, but the wifi is awesome. Wish I had it on my D-7000. I may end up buying a new DSLR with Wifi, just because it is so handy. Not crazy about the color, but it is what my wife wanted, probably to stop me from taking it.
For a point and shoot its a nice camera. Take it out of auto mode and switch to program to get the most out of the camera. The wifi feature is a bit of a pain to setup. The instructions say you can connect to any network but you need to connect to the wifi network on the camera only to transfer to a device.
