About Canon 520 HS
The Canon PowerShot ELPH 520 HS Digital Camera (Black) is a marvel of modern engineering. Only about three-quarters of an inch thick, the ELPH 520 HS nonetheless incorporates a new 12x optical zoom lens that feeds scenery to a new 1/3-inch 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor. The new sensor is designed specifically for use with the new lens, the result being bright and clear images throughout the full zoom range of 28 to 336mm (the 35mm equivalent focal length).
The 12x optical zoom works in conjunction with a 4x digital zoom for an overall 48x zoom with optical image stabilization keeping things steady. A high-speed burst mode captures 6.8 frames per second at a resolution of 1824 x 1368 pixels. A DIGIC 5 image processor orchestrates the entire image-capture process and offers an ISO range that goes up to 3200.
Video capture with the PowerShot ELPH 520 HS is just as impressive as with still images. The camera can capture 1080p full HD video with stereo sound at 24 frames per second (fps), as well as 720p HD video at 30 fps and you can use the full optical zoom range while shooting video. If you like, you can also shoot video in the Apple iFrame format.
