Canon EF-M Lens Adapter

from Selinsgrove, PA  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

Permits use of existing EF lenses on my new EOS M body and thus allows me to use this full-featured compact "travel" camera as a back-up with the same image quality as EOS cameras.

Works as described

Allows use of EF & EFS lenes on the EOS-M. Comes in handy since canon does not offer a wide EOS-M lens selection.

Questions about this item:

roni r  Is there an adapter for the Canon EF-S 15-85 to use on the Canon 5d ?
Andrew R  Unfortunately no. EF-S lenses use essentially the same mount, however the lenses do not provide a large enough image circle to cover the full frame sensor in cameras like the 5D MkII/MKIII and the new 6D.
SHIRLEY P  Can this adapter be used on an EF-S lens to mount it on a 5D Mark iii camera, which requires EF lenses?
MERVYN G  In my opinion, the adapter camera end will not mate with the 5D Mk III. The lens end of the adapter mates with the EF L lens: the camera end of the adapter mates with the EOS M. I think you would need an adapter with the camera end compatible with the 5D Mk III and the lens end compatible with EF-S lens.
Julie R  Will this adapter work with the Lensbaby for Canon?
Andrew R  In theory yes, this adapter allows Canon EF and EF-S lenses to be mounted on the Canon EOS M digital camera however there is a possibility that your Lensbaby optic might not work with the the EOS M (the EOS M is a newly announced camera and has not been tested for compatibility at this time)
