Canon EF-M Lens Adapter

By

Permits use of existing EF lenses on my new EOS M body and thus allows me to use this full-featured compact "travel" camera as a back-up with the same image quality as EOS cameras.

Works as described

Allows use of EF & EFS lenes on the EOS-M. Comes in handy since canon does not offer a wide EOS-M lens selection.

Questions about this item:

paul w  can this canon adapter be used with nikon lenses?
HANS C R  Of course not. Maybe if you use an additional Nikon to Canon EOS adapter. But no autofocus and no aperture control in that case
SHIRLEY P  Can this adapter be used on an EF-S lens to mount it on a 5D Mark iii camera, which requires EF lenses?
BRYAN S  This adapter allows EF or EF-S lenses to be used with the EOS M mirrorless body. As such, it cannot be mounted on the 5D3. EF-S lenses are generally not compatible with any full frame body, the 5D3 included, due to physical size constraints. EF-S lenses extend back into the mirror box, which works with crop body models given their smaller reflex mirrors.
james f  Is there an adapter kit that will allow lenses from the Canon AE-1 series to be mounted on a Canon D30?
JOHN R  The AE-1 series and its predecessors used the FD mount. I presume that the Canon D30, which was one of the earliest Canon autofocus digital SLR's, used the same EF mount that all the Canon EOS DSLR's use today. There are a number of adapters available that will permit FD lenses to be used on EF mounts. However, with the exception of the new EF-M, infinity focus required the inclusion of an optical element which, in a number of the low cost converters, degrades image quality. You may need to sample several converters to find one that is suitable. Most of these converters do not have the electronics to transmit aperture signals from your FD lens and an EOS camera, but most EOS bodies can be set for auto exposure with FD lenses when the aperture is manually stopped down.
