As a photographer, you take care to capture the best images possible and you want those images to look as good as you remember when you print them. The PIXMA PRO-10 Wireless Professional Inkjet Printer makes that possible with features that ensure incredible output. A new 10-color LUCIA pigment ink system features three black inks for amazing monochrome prints, and a Chroma Optimizer to ensure the inks lay smooth on the paper which reduces metamerism and bronzing. Since the Lucia inks are pigment based, your prints will have incredible longevity and phenomenal photo vividness.

The PIXMA PRO-10 shares technology with the rest of the PIXMA PRO line utilizing the Optimum Image Generating System to ensure what you envision is exactly what you get. The OIG System analyzes each area of the print and chooses the best ink mixture so you see the colors you expect to see in your print.

The new Print Studio Pro2 plug-in software makes it even easier to get amazing results from your favorite photo applications. Add to that connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB and you have a professional machine that easily fits into your workflow that you can place anywhere around the studio.

For media support, the PIXMA PRO-10 features two paper trays. A rear tray for a variety of fine art and glossy photo papers, and a manual slot for thicker media to meet your printing needs.

Canon PRO-10 Features

  • Print your Vision up to 13" x 19": Print professional quality photos on various media up to 13" x 19".
  • Professional Quality, Built-in: Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) features a patented print head that enables printing with microscopic droplets and high resolution up to 4800 x 2400 dpi.
  • True Monochrome Prints: The 3 monochrome inks which are part of the 10-ink LUCIA system consist of Photo Black, Matte Black, and Gray. These inks deliver enhanced, deep black density to raise your level of professional print quality when creating the dramatic expression of grayscale photography.
  • Reduced Bronzing: The premium LUCIA monochrome inks work together with the Chroma Optimizer to reduce the effect of bronzing. As a result, your printed photos will have expanded dynamic range, especially in the darker or shadow areas of the image.
  • Uniform Ink Height: The Chroma Optimizer brings uniform ink height over the printed image and regulates surface reflection. This maintains the natural color and integrity of your printed photos.
  • Optimum Analysis and Mixture of Color: The Optimum Image Generating (OIG) System utilizes two major technologies: The first is a sophisticated mixing balance of inks determined from numerous ink combinations and advanced analysis. The second is the balancing of color reproduction, tonal gradations, and uniform glossiness.
  • Pro Printing: The powerful Print Studio Pro plug-in software provides professional photographers effective printing solutions and can directly hand-over image data. Print Studio Pro is compatible with Digital Photo Professional (ver 2.1 or later), Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
  • Versatile Paper Handling: Two-way paper feeding provides a rear tray for most supported media types and a dedicated manual feed in the back of the printer for easy loading of thicker papers.
  • Built-in CD and DVD Printing: Conveniently print onto your printable CD, DVD or Blu-ray Discs and jackets.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi: The built-in Wi-Fi gives you the freedom to place the printer where it's convenient and allows multiple users to seamlessly print from several computers.
  • Built-in Ethernet Connectivity: The built-in Ethernet port allows multiple users to seamlessly print from several networked computers in any environment.
  • Computer-free Printing: A PictBridge connection lets you print photos directly from your compatible digital camera, DV camcorder, or camera phone.
  • Hi-Speed USB: Plug the cable into your PC for a super-fast connection for your data transfers.
  • AirPrint: Enables you to print photos, email, Web pages and documents from your Apple device directly to your printer - without installing a driver.

Let's be honest. This printer could be used to print your letters and grocery list. That's not why any of us purchase something like this, nor is the fairly considerable footprint going to be thought of as a negative. That being said, this printer replaces my i9900, which I thought made some pretty outstanding prints. Whoa. This pro-10 absolutely blows that out of the water. I've made a 13"x19" B&W, and a 13"x19" color photo and they both are printed with smoothness and clarity that I haven't...

Nice entry-level pigment inkjet printer.

By

from Colorado foothills  -  Semi-pro Photographer

Had previous model Canon dye ink printers, stepped up to the Pro-10 for the more archival pigment inks. When calibrated to my monitor (I have an inexpensive X-Rite Profiler) and using manufacturer paper profiles I get prints that pretty much match what I see on my iMac. My only desire would be that someone would again make 14x17 inch paper (loaded thru the back manual feed) and that the ink cartridges had more capacity.

Great Printer

By

from North Georgia  -  Enthusiast

I have used the Epson 1400 and the Canon pro 9000 Mark II prior to getting the Canon Pro 10. I was very pleasantly surprised at the print quality of the Pro 10. I knew it was going to be good but I didn't expect it to be significantly better than the other two printers. I'm going to retire the Epson 1400 and use the Mark II for routine prints. For those times when I want to really impress, I'm going to be using the Pro 10. Ink usage better than expected. Printer is very quiet. Setup was easy. Very pleased with purchase

It is what they say it is.

By

from Tenn.  -  Semi Professional

I was on the bandwagon for Epson printers until you had to swap out ink tanks. Lost a lot of ink doing that. My first Canon printer was the i9500 then upgraded to the 9500 MarkII. Now to my delight the Pro 10. Setup was a breeze and after the print-head alignment I got prints that matched my Samsung monitor. Awesome printer! Highly recommend this Canon Pro 10 printer.

Prosumer photographer seeks nice printer

By

from Stamford, CT  -  Semi Professional

I was looking for a good printer to replace a Canon i9900 that died. I found the PRO-10, it looked great but it was out of my price range. I was about to settle for the PRO-100 when I found the PRO-10 on sale at Adorama. For someone in the high end consumer/professional realm, the quality is incredible. The colors are vivid, and (with some tweaking) match my screen nicely. It's not the fastest printer I've ever seen but, as the saying goes, "It's worth the wait".

An early view

By

from Portland, Maine  -  Enthusiast

This printer is a moose! Beware of ink and paper costs, but the output is superb. I'm still fiddling with compensations in Canon Print Studio Pro (a plugin to Photoshop) but find that brightness +15 and contrast +10 seems to work best. Having a good printer gets your photos up out of your hard disk and onto the wall, where they belong.

Nice printer

By

from Zanesville, OH  -  Infrequent User

I have had limited use of the printer so far, but I am very happy with the prints I have made. It was fairly easy to set up, but I thought some of the documentation could have been a little clearer. I am not a pro, but have been wanting a larger printer to use at times, and the price could not be beat with the sale price & rebate. I would recommend this printer. Canon normally makes great products.

Excellent photo quality

By

from Ft pierce, Florida  -  Frequent User

Handles a variety of paper sizes easily. It printed faster than I expected with high quality. Setup was easy and printing with the photoshop plugin offers fine control over the output. I would not recommend using without photoshop, because sometimes the basic print options are too basic.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  how to scan photos on a Canon Pixma pro-10?
GREG S  Have never scanned anything to print, however the printer is incredible, better than I expected.
Rick P  Will this Pro-10 printer print on the Inkpress Metallic Paper, 255 gsm, 10 mil, Metallic Glossy sheets?
Conrad K  This printer has a straight feed path so should print on anything that is meant to be printed on. It has multiple printing modes so will print from draft to fine as desired.
Rick P  Thank you. I decided to go with the Epson 3380. I just placed the order :). I see it needs a cable. What kind of cable does it need and do you carry one? Thanks Rick
Babs A  Will the printer print with expired inks? Some printers will not.
Andrew R  Unfortunately Canon's info is unclear, however use of inks past their useful date is not generally recommended. Printer performance may be compromised, image color and quality may be less than optimal and could (possibly) void the manufacturer's warranty should damage occur due to their use.
