As a photographer, you take care to capture the best images possible and you want those images to look as good as you remember when you print them. The PIXMA PRO-10 Wireless Professional Inkjet Printer makes that possible with features that ensure incredible output. A new 10-color LUCIA pigment ink system features three black inks for amazing monochrome prints, and a Chroma Optimizer to ensure the inks lay smooth on the paper which reduces metamerism and bronzing. Since the Lucia inks are pigment based, your prints will have incredible longevity and phenomenal photo vividness.
The PIXMA PRO-10 shares technology with the rest of the PIXMA PRO line utilizing the Optimum Image Generating System to ensure what you envision is exactly what you get. The OIG System analyzes each area of the print and chooses the best ink mixture so you see the colors you expect to see in your print.
The new Print Studio Pro2 plug-in software makes it even easier to get amazing results from your favorite photo applications. Add to that connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB and you have a professional machine that easily fits into your workflow that you can place anywhere around the studio.
For media support, the PIXMA PRO-10 features two paper trays. A rear tray for a variety of fine art and glossy photo papers, and a manual slot for thicker media to meet your printing needs.
When I accidentally take a good photo I like to print it large and frame it. Sometimes weeks will pass before next usage, so my previous Epson R3000 was constantly getting clogged with dry ink. This Canon Pro 10 does not seem to have this problem. One questionable disadvantage of the Pro-10 compared to the R3000 is lack of roll printing.
I have many Canon products: 5D camera, Image Class 8580 color laser, MX860 multi purpose printer, etc. Maybe I have a lemon? My Pro 10 prints everything very dark - about 1.5 stops. Rediculous that I should have to make numerous adjustments to brightness and contrast to "good - properly exposed photos" just to get out one decent print, that Costco can do correctly the first time for $1.67. My four ink Canon MX860 does a much better job and its not a photo printer. My ancient 6 ink Canon use to to Lab quality prints. I just received this Pro 10 and find it unacceptable for photos. I will have to dedicate this printer exclusively for my 11x17 Excel spread sheets. What a waste of money.
I have used and loved Canon products for decades. Just purchased the Pro-10 printer. Very unhappy. The prints come out very dark - about 1.5 stops underexposed. My older and cheaper 4 and 6 ink Canon printers print much better than this. I shouldn't have to overly brighten good photos just to try and get an acceptable print out of this printer. Prints are unacceptable.
I bought the Canon 9000 when it came out and I thought that it was really good, but the Canon Pro 10 is Great.
Print are bright and very color accurate, even my CD's look better than before.
Had previous model Canon dye ink printers, stepped up to the Pro-10 for the more archival pigment inks. When calibrated to my monitor (I have an inexpensive X-Rite Profiler) and using manufacturer paper profiles I get prints that pretty much match what I see on my iMac. My only desire would be that someone would again make 14x17 inch paper (loaded thru the back manual feed) and that the ink cartridges had more capacity.
I have used the Epson 1400 and the Canon pro 9000 Mark II prior to getting the Canon Pro 10. I was very pleasantly surprised at the print quality of the Pro 10. I knew it was going to be good but I didn't expect it to be significantly better than the other two printers. I'm going to retire the Epson 1400 and use the Mark II for routine prints. For those times when I want to really impress, I'm going to be using the Pro 10. Ink usage better than expected. Printer is very quiet. Setup was easy. Very pleased with purchase
I was on the bandwagon for Epson printers until you had to swap out ink tanks. Lost a lot of ink doing that. My first Canon printer was the i9500 then upgraded to the 9500 MarkII. Now to my delight the Pro 10. Setup was a breeze and after the print-head alignment I got prints that matched my Samsung monitor. Awesome printer! Highly recommend this Canon Pro 10 printer.
I was looking for a good printer to replace a Canon i9900 that died. I found the PRO-10, it looked great but it was out of my price range. I was about to settle for the PRO-100 when I found the PRO-10 on sale at Adorama. For someone in the high end consumer/professional realm, the quality is incredible. The colors are vivid, and (with some tweaking) match my screen nicely. It's not the fastest printer I've ever seen but, as the saying goes, "It's worth the wait".
This printer is a moose! Beware of ink and paper costs, but the output is superb. I'm still fiddling with compensations in Canon Print Studio Pro (a plugin to Photoshop) but find that brightness +15 and contrast +10 seems to work best. Having a good printer gets your photos up out of your hard disk and onto the wall, where they belong.
