The Canon EOS Rebel T5i DSLR Camera (Body Only) is an APS-C format digital SLR camera with an 18MP CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 5 image processor. With 14-bit Analog/Digital conversion, an ISO range from 100-12800 (expandable to 25600) and Multi Shot Noise Reduction, it offers sharp details, accurate colors and low-noise imaging in both bright and low-light shooting situations. A 9-point all cross-type autofocus system provides fast focusing when shooting with the viewfinder and Hybrid CMOS AF increases autofocus speeds when shooting in Live View. The Rebel T5i can continuously shoot up to 5 fps.
A 3.0" Clear View II Vari-angle Touchscreen LCD with 1,040k-dot resolution provides composition and playback viewing. Its tilt and swivel capability makes it easy to compose your shots at odd angles and a smudge-resistant coating keeps the monitor clear. Intuitive touchscreen operation includes Touch Autofocus.
Full HD 1080p at 30 fps and 24 fps is supported with Movie Servo for continuous autofocus during shooting. Manual exposure is provided in video mode and 60 fps is possible when shooting at 720p HD. A built-in stereo microphone with manual audio level adjustment is provided for quality audio recording with your videos.
Scene Intelligent Auto Mode automatically makes the optimal camera adjustments based on scene recognition and improved scene detection is particularly helpful when shooting night scenes. Advanced imaging features such as Handheld Night Scene and HDR Backlight Control make capturing difficult shots easy and seven Creative Filters add expressive touches to your images and can even be viewed in real time during Live View shooting. The EOS Rebel T5i utilizes SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards and is compatible with the full line of Canon EF and EF-S lenses.
I am a 90 year old amateur whose experience goes back to the box camera. I am still acclimating to this marvelous camera and its outstanding features. My previous camera was the first EOS Rebel so there is a loot to learn.
I bought this as an upgrade from my t2i and what an upgrade. Images are better than the t2i including at UPTO 1600 ISO. The weight and size are just right and the fit in my hand is almost equally right although I use a grip with mine making it a little taller. I'm impressed with the better sensor and processor, and it's nice to be able to control an external flash without a cable. The microphone picks up internal noise though.
It is a great camera. I replaced my T3i camera with this one and just loved it.
The T5i does what it is supposed to do. It will take some time to get used to the touch screen menu programming.
I do own a couple canons 7d and 5d mark3. this is a very nice camera to shoot with. It is light weight and the touch screen makes it easy to get around. I bought this one used, but it is in like new condition. I would buy it again.
This is my first DSLR camera and I must say I am very happy with my choice. It is very user friendly. We are still getting to know each other, but these few days tell me that I am going to be very satisfied while working with this camera.
Had my camera for a couple weeks now and so far so good. I am a first time buyer so still learner all the tricks to it but I love it. It takes beautiful photos and I cant wait to see what else I can do with it. Also best website for price and it came with a memory card and bag for free which is always a plus. :)
Just used this for a 50th wedding anniversary (family event, not pro). I upgraded from a T1i w/ 18-55 & 55-250 kit. Focus time for this T5i combo, improved focus quality, and ease of access into the settings menus using the touch screen are all significant improvements from the T1i, while the rest of things stayed familiar. Excellent image quality for my purposes, and I never had to switch lenses for this event.
This was a gift upgrading me from the t3i to t5i. I love it.. We do mainly landscapes and wildlife.
My previous Canon, EOS T1i, had HD video capabilities; however, the T5i with its AF-Servo and STM lens are an incredible leap forward. I have already shot numerous videos with great results...the new technology is extremely quiet and works flawlessly with most of my previous lens and accessories. The only draw back is that the AF-servo, though working with previous lenses, is a bit shaky with their focusing mechanisms...I will likely upgrade from the standard STM IS 18-55mm lens to a longer STM lens to reach more distant subjects without the noise that my current "non-STM" lenses generate.
