Big but so very slow

I tested two Dane-Elec 8 GB cards that I bought from Adorama against other CF cards. I took 10 images around the garden on each card with a Nikon D300 in fine JPG format. Then I timed how long to unload those images to my computer. Here are the results. San Disk Ultra II 4 GB 6 seconds Kingston 4 GB 28 seconds pq1 512 MB 40 seconds Silicon Power 512 MB 86 seconds Dane-elec 8 GB 105 seconds Dane-elec 8 GB 290 seconds.
