About Epson 1430

The Epson Artisan 1430 Inkjet Printer combines fast 2.8 ppm ISO print speeds (black and color) with Epson's MicroPiezo inkjet technology and Claria high-definition ink to produce high-quality long-lasting photos. The printer's wide carriage lets you print large photos - up to 13x44" right from your own computer. Thanks to the printer's compatibility with a wide range of media (including photo luster, photo glossy, photo matte and presentation paper), you'll be able to print what you need in-house, right away.

In addition to printing on standard media, you can print directly on inkjet-printable CDs & DVDs. Easily create your own custom CDs and avoid the hassle of having to attach a disc label. Besides a standard USB connection, you can connect to the printer wirelessly via Wi-Fi from a computer on your wireless network. Instead of buying a printer for each user, save resources - and space - with one printer for your whole network.

Additionally, Epson Connect makes it easy to print from a wide range of devices including Smartphones such as an iPhone or Android phone and tablet computers such as the iPad. The front-facing USB port can be used to print directly from any PictBridge-enabled device such as a digital camera.

Epson 1430 Features

  • Ultra Hi-Definition Prints: Claria 6-color ink for high-quality long-lasting photos (prints last up to four times longer than photo lab prints)

Quality Large Format Printer

As a retired professional photographer, I appreciate quality prints. As someone who does a wide range of adventure travel, I like to be able to output large prints of my adventures for framing to hang about my home. While I have only printed four 13X19 and three 11X17prints since purchasing the Artisan 1430, they surpass those made by the competitor's large format printer it replaces -- no mean feat! While I notice that the saturation on a couple of the prints doesn't acheive the density of the same pictures printed off my Epson Stylus Photo 200 as 8x10s, I'm confident that is just a matter of tweaking settings. The difference is so slight, less discerning eyes may not detect it unless they saw the prints side by side. Install was quick and easy. I output through USB cable through a USB hub without any problems. It's a great printer at a great price.

NEVER change router or SSID or wireless key.

Epson provides no method to change your wireless password or SSID with this printer. If you change your router/modem or change your SSID or your wireless key, the printer stops working and there is no way to get it to connect again unless you reinstall the drivers and go through the entire printer setup process again! You cannot access the SSID or wireless key settings from any menu or from any of the printer properties menus. What a waste of time.

I really like the printer. It, by far, succeeded my expectations. For the price, it's a no hassle, hard working printer. Functions easily and if I ever need another printer I will get an Epson.

The little printer that could!

By

from Tarentum,PA

We have been using the predecessor of this model(...the 1400) for the past six years. This configuration is the most dependable, reliable printer we have ever used. They are used hard and consistently produce excellent quality 13 x 19 prints on a wide variety of papers. We currently have 2 1430s and 1 1400 hard at work doing photography and graphic design and could not be more pleased.

worst printer I ever bought

By

from PA

Very expensive for the quality. I print a lot of materials and found I always had to keep check on the ink levels. Only had 1 year and 1 month and one of the colors stopped working. No warranty!! I would have to get it fixed either in VA or MD. I live in PA. I feel I wasted my hard earned money on this product.

By

I LOVE THIS PRINTER.. I use it all over the country, it travels with me when I need to do on site processing. I am a professional photographer. this is an awesome printer. the colors are awesome, I found out using Epson paper makes the prints like they should be.. tried other so called photo papers... nope don't use anything but Epson papers. they are matched up. I have 3 of these printers one at home, 2 I carry with me.

This printer makes me want to cry

By

from Montana, USA

I am a photography student and I purchased this printer for my classes. So far, I have to say that I am not impressed. No matter what I do, my prints come out dark, dull and lifeless. I always have streaks, blotches and lines all over my prints. I have tried everything I can think of. I am heartbroken, I was really looking forward to using this printer and I cannot afford a replacement. The ink is pricey and I go through way too much of it trying to get my images to print the way I want them to. I am kicking myself for buying such a crummy printer.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
CATHY M  never thought I could find an adequate replacement for my epson 1280....then I found the 1430....mission accomplished
Shopper  what is optimized dpi? I had a canon ip4300 whose resolution was 9600 x 2400 dpi. the Epson says its resolution is 5760X1440 optimized dpi--how do the two models compare?
C. W  Many printers use “optimized dpi,” meaning their printheads optimize the placement of ink drops to improve the quality of prints. If you see a printer that has a 9,600 dpi, it’s layering dots by passing the same part of page multiple times and putting several dots of different colors in one place. The final result will look rich, but this technique uses a lot of ink and time.
Shopper  Is this a Adorama typo? The printer's wide carriage lets you print large photos - up to 13x44" right from your own computer. I need to print panoramas around 40" Thanks George D
DAVID S  I have not tried. It has some serious issues communicating with photoshop which I have still not resolved after 3 calls to their tech support. I frankly cannot recommend this model. Better off going for a higher end model
