The Epson Artisan 1430 Inkjet Printer combines fast 2.8 ppm ISO print speeds (black and color) with Epson's MicroPiezo inkjet technology and Claria high-definition ink to produce high-quality long-lasting photos. The printer's wide carriage lets you print large photos - up to 13x44" right from your own computer. Thanks to the printer's compatibility with a wide range of media (including photo luster, photo glossy, photo matte and presentation paper), you'll be able to print what you need in-house, right away.
In addition to printing on standard media, you can print directly on inkjet-printable CDs & DVDs. Easily create your own custom CDs and avoid the hassle of having to attach a disc label. The printer even comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements so you can edit and fine-tune your photos before printing. Besides a standard USB connection, you can connect to the printer wirelessly via Wi-Fi from a computer on your wireless network. Instead of buying a printer for each user, save resources - and space - with one printer for your whole network.
Additionally, Epson Connect makes it easy to print from a wide range of devices including Smartphones such as an iPhone or Android phone and tablet computers such as the iPad. The front-facing USB port can be used to print directly from any PictBridge-enabled device such as a digital camera.

Quality Large Format Printer
As a retired professional photographer, I appreciate quality prints. As someone who does a wide range of adventure travel, I like to be able to output large prints of my adventures for framing to hang about my home. While I notice that the saturation on a couple of the prints doesn't acheive the density of the same pictures printed off my Epson Stylus Photo 200 as 8x10s, I'm confident that is just a matter of tweaking settings. The difference is so slight, less discerning eyes may not detect it unless they saw the prints side by side. Install was quick and easy. I output through USB cable through a USB hub without any problems. It's a great printer at a great price.

NEVER change router or SSID or wireless key.
Epson provides no method to change your wireless password or SSID with this printer. If you change your router/modem or change your SSID or your wireless key, the printer stops working and there is no way to get it to connect again unless you reinstall the drivers and go through the entire printer setup process again! You cannot access the SSID or wireless key settings from any menu or from any of the printer properties menus. What a waste of time.

I LOVE THIS PRINTER.. I use it all over the country, it travels with me when I need to do on site processing. I am a professional photographer. this is an awesome printer. the colors are awesome, I found out using Epson paper makes the prints like they should be.. tried other so called photo papers... nope don't use anything but Epson papers. they are matched up. I have 3 of these printers one at home, 2 I carry with me.
I am a photography student and I purchased this printer for my classes. So far, I have to say that I am not impressed. No matter what I do, my prints come out dark, dull and lifeless. I always have streaks, blotches and lines all over my prints. I have tried everything I can think of. I am heartbroken, I was really looking forward to using this printer and I cannot afford a replacement. The ink is pricey and I go through way too much of it trying to get my images to print the way I want them to. I am kicking myself for buying such a crummy printer.
AFTER I PURCHASED THIS PRINTER,IT TOOK JUST A FEW MINUTES TO INSTAL WHICH WAS QUITE EASY.IT IS FAST AS DESCRIBED AND PHOTOS ,WHICH IS MY MAIN BUSINESS,COMES OUR BRILLIANT.IT BRINGS OUT SHARPLY ALL THE DETAILS ON THE SUBJECT.THE ONLY SETBACK IS THE 11X17 AND 13X19 PAPER ARE JUST A LITTLE BIT TOO THIN.THE PRINTER IS GREAT AND BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.I WILL CERTAINLY RECOMMEND THIS TO BUYERS.
this is a great addition to my small home business, does exactly what it is detailed to do , and the cost was within my range ,,,,,
I have a Artisan 837 I do photos and every day printing on. The quality of printing is excellent. When I wanted a wide format printer I went with Epson and got the 1430. The price was good and the printing is excellent like I expected. Jerry
I really like this printer. I have worked with graphics and photos for years and appreciate it when I can print from home and get professional looking results.
This is a wonderful printer! It is easy to use and the colors are magnificent!
for the price this printer delivers all that I need to do my Giclee prints of my Original paintings.. Hope to move up someday to a larger unit.
I have used a lot of Photo printers. This is by far the best photo printer that I have ever used. The detail and color is fantastic. The only thing is it is a little slow.
I am highly familiar with Epson printers. I recently decided to start doing prints again for a portfolio. Out of the box, pretty straightforward including a full set of tanks. Wi-Fi was easy via the software included with the printer. I shoot a 3:2 aspect ratio and print 4x6, 8x12 (9x13 paper), 12x18 (13x19 paper) prints. I use professional photo high grade paper versus consumer store photo paper. I use Lightroom as my print source. The printer features control (Epson software) are easy to use with specific settings for output (such as 2880 x 1440 dpi). Some ICC profiles are a little tricky to use as output did not match monitor calibration. However, a second print using Epson print control proved exceptional output. A 13 x 19 print yielding a 12 x 18 print with a 1/4 inch matt border takes about a half hour per print. Ink flow is vastly improved over the R300 from years ago yielding more prints per tank set. Overall, I love the printer! Metallic prints are exceptional!
