The Epson Artisan 1430 Inkjet Printer combines fast 2.8 ppm ISO print speeds (black and color) with Epson's MicroPiezo inkjet technology and Claria high-definition ink to produce high-quality long-lasting photos. The printer's wide carriage lets you print large photos - up to 13x44" right from your own computer. Thanks to the printer's compatibility with a wide range of media (including photo luster, photo glossy, photo matte and presentation paper), you'll be able to print what you need in-house, right away.
In addition to printing on standard media, you can print directly on inkjet-printable CDs & DVDs. Easily create your own custom CDs and avoid the hassle of having to attach a disc label. Besides a standard USB connection, you can connect to the printer wirelessly via Wi-Fi from a computer on your wireless network. Instead of buying a printer for each user, save resources - and space - with one printer for your whole network.
Additionally, Epson Connect makes it easy to print from a wide range of devices including Smartphones such as an iPhone or Android phone and tablet computers such as the iPad. The front-facing USB port can be used to print directly from any PictBridge-enabled device such as a digital camera.

I purchased the wide format so I can make prints of my art work and chose wireless in order to accommodate its size. Read the specs - it's big. Set up was fairly easy, although it took several attempts to get the router and printer "talking". One complaint: the box states that it includes a free sample paper pack, however there was none in my order. I haven't used it to make large prints on specialty paper as yet, but it does a good job on printed documents, some with color, on plain 8.5 x 11...View full Review

One complaint: the box states that it includes a free sample paper pack, however there was none in my order. I haven't used it to make large prints on specialty paper as yet, but it does a good job on printed documents, some with color, on plain 8.5 x 11. The print and color images are clear and sharp. Another good feature is the automatic shut off. I'm looking forward to obtaining the 13" x 19" paper and, also experimenting with printing on watercolor paper. Will follow up review after I've used it more (its only been a week since it arrived). I've used Epson printers and scanners for years and overall I'm very happy with their products.

Just received second unit. Has the same exact fault as the first one. Photo files are from three different Nikon cameras and two different editing programs, but the printer still has the same fault. Will try and get a full refund and start shopping all over again. Has anyone heard of the term "quality control?"
I like the Artisan 1430. Brought it home and put it to work right away. The quality appears pretty good. Almost better than my R2880. Easy to operator, prints good black and white, as well as color.
As the title says... For people who use a variety of papers and a mixture of images and text, this is the ideal printer. It also does an extraordinary job on photos. It is very, very versatile and has a variety of settings. We loved our R2000 photo printer, but for our purposes this is much better. The price does not reflect its quality. It is much, much better than you would expect for a printer of this price. THANK YOU EPSON!
I have had this refurb unit for some time now and must say the prints are very good and the ink last much longer than privious Epson printers. I print a lot of CD/DVd labels and the ink has lasted plus I get very fine prints.
I bought the Artisan 1430 to replace a Stylus 1400 I've used for 5 years. I'm a screenprinter and need a printer that will print opaque black ink on 13" x 19" film for burning screens. Our films are archived so it's important the ink holds up over time (years). The Stylus was a great printer that printed thousands of pieces of film and I'm hoping the Artisan will be the same. So far, so good. Very opaque printing and excellent halftones.
Love how quietly and quickly it prints. Thrilled how the straight feed works with thick media. For me it is the perfect printer.
It prints professionally on paper and disks. It also does well through wi fi. I love it.
I use Epson Printers exclusively in my portrait studio. Like the previous ones, this printer is a workhorse.
I have always loved Epson and the high quality of each print that is produced, but this printer has outshined all of them. I am totally impressed at the color which is the same as what I see on my monitor. I did not have to calibrate though I am sure some do. It is quick, quiet, and does not take up so much space. I highly recommend this printer and also recommend that you do not listen to the negative comments posted. The ink tanks that came with the computer were completely full, snapped right in and gave me professional quality prints.
I had an Epson 1400 printer for many years. I used to print local high school sports for Football, Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, and Volleyball. I printed thousands and thousands of high quality photos and posters for individual athletes and team photos. Everything was great, but my printer finally wore out. The R1430 seemed like the logical replacement. I now do photos and posters for family members. Epson is the best.
