Awesome printer

I give this printer an A++. I needed a printer that prints direct to CD. I make a lot CD and DVDs and this feature is very easy to use and my Discs come out looking professional. I love it!! Photos look great on this machine. The wireless and networking is great on this machine. I have 2 desktops and 3 laptops in my home, so I needed something that they all can print to. Everything works GREAT! Love this printer. Over all, this is the best printer I have had to date. Easy to use and love all

I have a response to one of the other reviews about the colors on their screen looking different than on the photo prints. It’s not necessarily the printer that’s the problem. I don’t have this issue with my prints. There are a few things you need to take into consideration before you say it’s the printer. Your screen quality and settings on your monitor. I’m sure you all have noticed the color differences when looking in the TV section of like a Best Buy. Quality and settings play a big part. Also, the quality of paper can make a difference as well. Print the same picture on cheap photo paper and high quality photo paper and you will see a difference in the print quality and colors in the prints. There are more factors in printing your own photos than you would think.

Not the easiest to install

I just finished installing my printer and it took two days and two calls later to do it. You should have a degree in computers to do it. Great Value for $$, Excellent Photo Prints

By

I have had this printer for quite a few months now and LOVE the print quality and speed. The separate photo and CD trays have come in very handy. I have not had any problems with the tray as a few other reviewers have. As long as you are gentle with it it works just fine and is easy to load. I really like the compactness of it (i.e. it doesn't have a paper tray that sticks out the back) and the flat top allows me a place to stack things I've printed out that I will get back to later. I don't find that the ink is any more expensive than any other model, but I wish it was sold in more stores than just Staples in my town. I used to be able to get my old printer's ink (Epson CX5000) at Wal-mart and that was very convenient! Overall I think this is an excellent printer and really have enjoyed the Wi-Fi capability as well, it has allowed me to keep the printer in the spare room and print from my laptop in the living room at the other end of the house.

Good Printer - Terrible Paper Tray

By

I have had this printer for 6 months now. It actually prints excellent photos. The quality of photo printing is great. However, Epson needs to seriously address the paper tray on this printer for the following reasons (and this is why I would not recommend this printer to friends): 1) The paper tray has to be completely removed from the printer to add paper; 2) it is very flimsy; 3) it is extremely difficult to slide the paper alignment guide bars and finally, 4) I have a lot more paper jams than I have ever had with any other printer.

temperamental

By

I’m extremely unhappy with the printing abilities of this machine. It’s temperamental in regards to they types of paper it wants to print. A bit too thick in matte paper and it chooses whether it wants to print or not. For the past 15 years, I have only used Epson products and I’ve been using the same matte paper for years and have never had this problem. Now, it’s an issue. I returned my first one due to this problem, they replaced it with another, and the same problem occurs. Could I have two lemons or perhaps it’s just temperamental with paper. I’m proficient with computer and printers and at least getting it to work some of the time is better than nothing. On the positive side, the scanning feature is lovely and the coloring for pictures is bright.

"Not enough time to evaluate yet"

By

I use it for general printing of documents, internet items, receipts, scanning, printing CD/DVD labels etc..... In general so far, a Good printer..... Bad: DVD tray broken the first time I used it..... had to send back to Epson, they gave me a new one, so far so good! If I just press scan, and ok, nothing ever happens? have to launch shortcut on desktop to scan, go figure!!

excellent printer

By

This is a quality printer, how its built and how it works, I've had all in one printers and usually you sacrifice quality In photo's when using all in ones. But not this it's main design is photo's, the cost of ink is well worth the quality. if your printing alot of text use a cheap printer and save this printer for your good work. some of the parts are flexible for good reason's, I use alot of different types of printers and this is so far the best engineered. I had a problem getting it to print with a USB cable from windows 64 bit, it was a software issue only. So i connected with the network setup and use it wired. it works great. so I'll probably go wireless

works great but!

By

the only problem I have with this printer is when it goes into sleep mode. you have to manually push a button to wake it up. if you send a page to print, it does not wake out of sleep mode and you can not cancel the print. can be very aggravating
