Runs quick and accurate

I like this scanner. I was thinking of getting another brand, when I came across this one. I liked what it had to offer. I wanted to get rid of paper in my house. This scanner does it quickly. I have run hundred of papers through this scanner and saved them on my computer. I also plan to use this product for work. I am a big fan of this product, I hope it will serve me years to come.

Fatal Error FE1 Out of box

The scanner will turn on, but any activity leads to a display of Fatal Error FE1. It will not run any diagnostic or scan and has been determined to be defective. I was disappointed to see this has been a common problem after reading good reviews on this scanner. If the next one is defective, I will be switching to another brand.

NO MANUAL! NO DOWNLOADABLE MANUAL AVAILABLE!!

By

from Iowa, USA

I suppose this is an acceptable scanner. It seems to work. What REALLY chaps my hide, though, is that Epson is so paranoid that they don't even allow owners to download a complete manual for the machine. I can understand their wanting to save paper and printing costs, but the COMPLETE manual should be downloadable for owners to print for themselves. You'd think that several hundred bucks worth of equipment would include access to a printable copy of the manual. Not Epson! It's HTML or nothing! BAD choice, Epson.

Epson WorkForce Pro GT-S50 Document Scanner

By

from Michigan

The GT-S50 is an excellent scanner. It is fast, has lots of scanning options as to type of output, eg, jpeg, pdf, etc. and has been very reliable. It handles lots of difference size documents. Occasionally the output will not match the options specified in the software. For example, a page of a document may not be rotated as specified. Very minor occurrence. To sum up: high quality output, fast, and reliable.

Terrific scanner

By

from Midlands, UK

I have been transferring some 40 years of paperwork - personal and work related - to computer. The quality of the originals has ranged from the reasonable to the atrocious and the scanner has taken it all in its stride, churning through thousands of sheets in a couple of weeks. There have been several jams caused by mis-shapen, torn, folded, dog-eared and stapled sheets (loaded inadvertently) but these have been dealt with very easily. The scans have been of consistently high quality. I have no problem recommending this scanner to anyone.

Scanner

By

from MA & FL

I found the Pro GT-S50 scanner to be very easy to set up and very easy to use. Scanning is much faster than I was used to from a flat bed scanner. I liked the Pro GT-S50 so much that I purchased a second one for use in my second home.

Fast and accurate

By

from Bluffton, SC

The Pro GT-550 is fast and accurate, with a very small footprint. It was easy to install, and handles both large and small scans with no troubles. The files it produces are legible, and I've had no trouble converting the scans to text for editing. For the price, it met my expectations with only one exception. (The document feeder slot is a little touchy, probably due to the speed with which it feeds the sheets for scanning. If any of the sheets are not perfectly fed, the device will jam and wrinkle or fold the documents. I suspect that problem is actually operator error.)

Epson GT-S50 Document Scanner

By

Initially installed under Win XP OS and worked fine. Upgraded to Win 8 Pro OS and had some inintial problem with software recognizing this scanner and my Epson Perfection 3590 Photo scanner. After some work and reinstillation (a few tiimes) all is working fine. Scanner is a true time saver and work enhancer. Easy to use and associated software helps make my work easier.

Workforce Pro GT-S50

By

from NJ

I am overall pleased with the product however the first unit I purchased didn't work out of the box and had to be returned. I purchased a different Epson product which worked for three scans before that and my wife bought an Epson DS-30 PORTAB that also promptly ceased to function. I guess the forth time is the charm but the inconvenience of the returns almost made me select a different company.

Questions about this item:

RICHARD H  Can this scanner be plug into the DSL so it can scan to seperate ip address ? ( seperate work stations)
AL T  No. Though you could do that with a printer, providing that the host PC is powered on, you cannot network share this scanner. There are devices for sharing USB devices but they are somewhat pricey and they are really designed for printers. You will need a network scanner to really achieve proper integration. If you decide to still purchase this scanner, you can't bet the price at this store. I work for a state agency and saving money is important.
